Good gas mileage in town but horrible on freeway
ebayfish replied to RCWD21's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
My sender/gauge must be off(no surprise). It shows nearly dead empty, taking 14 gal. to fill up...never pushed past E. -

Maybe I'm wrong, but didn't these only come with a 13 or 15 gal tank? My tank won't hold anywhere near 21 gallons (200 miles, 9.57 mpg) & I get about 250 per tank with my 15 gal tank. When I first got the truck, it needed basic maintenance & got 180ish mpg per tank. -
Running it....love it....headers add a lot to the sound. 24.99 shipped from jegs.com

Headers & intake made all the difference for me. Not sure how its possible to put them on without a body lift, I did both at the same time. Also, general maintenance goes along way. New plugs, check timing, make sure O2 & MAF sensors are good, clean throttle body, run seafoam through gas to clean injectors, etc.

I may be wrong, but I think a bad tps would cause bad read on tach, hesitation & cruise control would not work proper. -

You might want to unplug the O2 sensor at the harness before you replace. Mine drove much better when I did. I ordered an NGK sensor with harness off ebay for $16 shipped. -

Assuming its auto, are you sure overdrive is on? Make sure its not in "power" mode. I get 17-18 or so mpg running 33s, 75-80 mph....it should definitely be better than what your getting. -
When mine did that, I ran a can of sea foam through the gas, cleaned the egr & throttle body. Ran like new truck afterwards. Could also be o2 sensor. Unplug it from the tree of connectors on the passenger fender & see it it drives better. If so replace it with an NGK, can be ordered online for $20

Probably custom(or photoshopped), but these would be cool as hell. -
Transmission removal/install tips please..
ebayfish replied to Eamon's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
I've been told you can drop the transfer case and then pull the tranny back to give you plenty of room without touching the torsion bars. Look for hidden bolt, such as behind the starter. Frankly, its not a fun pull....Good luck. -
Can you interchange a manual transfer case to an auto transmission(same driveshaft lengths, etc.)? I cannot find part numbers, so unsure if it is the same part on both. Thanks, before I get yelled at, I promise I've searched

Does anyone know if there are any more aftermarket companies that offer other alternatives to the standard headlights, i.e., projector, euro alteza, angel eyes, led markers, etc. I've seen neat old pics of hardbodies from back in the lowrider days that looked good, but can't seem to find much offered now. I'd like to find a good set with projector lenses to run HIDs.

I've got one, with a drain plug $25 & you pay shipping -
I just put on Raybestos professional ceramic brake pads PGD333D, on & couldn't be happier! Stops on a dime, no dust & only cost $28 shipped from eBay.

Installed front ceramic brake pads during lunch break, easiest 25 minute brake job ever!

I'll take a stab at it, the left bolt looks like the one on the driver side air conditioner tensioner bracket; the right, one of the two lower bolts from the bottom side of the air conditioner compressor. The look like something on the outside of the engine, for an accessory.

How long has it been since you've replaced the coil(possible bad part)? Have you checked the wire from the coil to the center of the distributer cap?

Limited slip clunk when turning wheel opposite direction
ebayfish replied to stabworthy's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
Well that rules out u joints. I'd start with fluid & see what that does. Its probably due regardless. What does it do if you dpin it at the yoke? -
Thanks for the input, the same guy is selling the supercharged transmission & transfer case for only $500....I with that was around back when I did my swap. Do you think the extra work would justify the supercharged version, or if I do the swap, would you stick with the standard 3.3l? I'm still debating what to do, my 3.0 is running like a top, now up to almost 180 HP. & not sure if it would be worth the return; but it would be great to have the extra push.
