  1. Cheers for that, does anyone on here know for sure? just got hold of a manual and it looks like the lifters are sitting under the push rods..
  2. Hi guys, As above, do I need to take the cylinder head off to replace lifters or do I only need to remover rocker cover and rocker shaft assembly? Truck is a 1990 TD27. Cheers, Eamon
  3. ps. this is the 2.7 TD engine and 71c tranny
  4. Dropped my transmission today in order to replace clutch and some gb bearings. The nice surprise I found was a whole lot of oily residue sitting in behind the flywheel. Im guess that points strait to a rear main seal leak. Are these pathfinder RMS's as easy as taking off the flywheel and pulling out the seal? as ive heard some models need the whole engine to be taken out and dismantled.. Cheers
  5. Cheers, yea i asked nissan a while ago about that TSB and they said it only applied to the trannys from the petrol pathfinders.
  6. Hi, So as in title ive got some prity nasty bearing noise from 3rd- and much louder from 4th gear (manual tranny). I cant afford a full rebuild at the moment so need to narrow it down to the main culprit. Do any of you with gearbox knowledge know which bearing/bearings would cause this grouping to rattle? I'll add that theres no grinding between any gears and none jump out. 5th is a little sticky to pull out though (kind of catches), this will be unrelated i assume but if u have any ideas on that one throw them in:) 1990, 2.7 diesel, manual. Cheers
  7. All i can find are manuals for the petrol engines. is it simply the case that diesel manuals dont exist??
  8. great cheers guys. will try just lowering the crossbar first. see how it goes. would it be worth draining the trans fluid? not how much that would help the weight issues.. also when I jacked up the front today (both wheels up) i noticed the steering system is really stiff. like It takes quite a bit of effort to pivot the wheels by hand (not using steering wheel). on all the other cars Ive owned the steering system has been quite loose and free when jacked up. is this normal on a 4x4?
  9. HI guys, need to revamp my clutch this week and am after any tips/possible snags I might run into when removing a 1990 manual tranny? Have changed one clutch before, many years ago on a subaru Leone so have a vague idea what im in for. Is it necessary to remove torsion bars? Do any engine parts need to be removed to access the top bell housing bolts? (looks pritty tight in there..) Cheers, Eamon
  10. Hi all, Just brought my first pathfinder yesterday and the clutch has already started slipping.. good times. Gonna change the plates etc myself but would prefer to have a service manual to guide me along the way.. Anyone know where I can download one for a 1990? or have a pdf yourself that you could flick across to me? Thanks, merry pathfinding, Eamon
