  1. I am not a R50 fan but picked this one up for $500. Weapon-r cold intake, warn hubs and bags in the rear. It is a base model but what the heck
  2. As mentioned throttle body's are a very simple set up. There are three manuel adjustments-cold start idle cam, base idle screw and the fast idle air screw. Check the adjustments and make sure there is slack in the throttle cable. Then check for a/f ratio and pulse at the injectors
  3. Had my share of engines this week 3.3 4.0 3.0
  4. The coolant system is very simple. After 35 mph the fan clucth is not that important because the air moving through the fins is faster than the clutch will pull it. Unless the clutch is locked. As the temps rise the radiator is failing to disapate the heat. I would recommend the radiator and t-stat.
  5. I am referring to the 88. It is now for sale $1550. It must be a scam. The original listing was in Mira Mesa last year. I am a pathfinder pack rat. I just picked up a 89 that needs some tlc. Ad said excellent but far from it

  7. That pathfinder has been on craigslist on/off for about a year. I was going to buy it last year and offered him $700. It would not pass smog, it had electrical issues and the undr carraige is beat to hell. It has been rear ended and the trim is broken in the back. The front interior is perfect and that is why I wanted it. I have 11 pathfinders and this was going to ad to the collection. The after market cb and such is poorly wired and the hot side is wird around the the rt hood hinge.
  8. I like the silver too. I am going to tint the windows and blak the rims. I think it will really draw that color out
  9. lol No just a hobby. Goal is to get one of every year se 1st gen and then work on the odd ones like the 4cyl.
  10. I have six pathfinders and I perfer the two door. I do have an 3.3 ready to go once the 3.0I dies.
  11. Welcome. I am up the street from you. If you need any help let me know. Jeff
  12. Thanks deerhurst. I look on craigslist everyday for parts even if I do not need them. Yesterday I went down the street to our local junk yard and picked up the factory rear floor mat. There was a super clean 89 up your way. The guy wanted too much for me but I did entertain the thought
  13. Thanks guys. I do like the 2 door better. The best model pathy I like is the 92. The dash does not look like a sentra, still has all the bells and whistles, fog lights mounted low and no third brake light. Here is my 91 I just finished a few months ago.
  14. I now have 4 Pathfinders and this is the first stick. She off roads like any other pathy-great but I actually get more wheel control out of my automatics.
  15. The guy wanted $900 obo but it was not running. Went to the junk yard and got two injectors out of a 4cyl So I offered him $500 and hw took it. Cracked windshield Very nasty interior A month later
  16. if the cat is plugged try unplugging the y pipe. Ohm the injectors. Make sure the resistance is no higher than 14.0 ohms
  17. Pull the rotor off and then the inspection plate that covers the crank sensor. See if there is metal in or around the wheel sensor. When the dist go bad the bearings fail and scatter metal aorund. Check the fuel preesure regulator and make sure the vacum hose is not full or fuel. Your psi should be around 35 psi and go up as you rev. Just some easy things to check
  18. Very nice. here is the tsb for the accesory kit that I used to instal-TS89-152. It has all the part info and dimentions
  19. I use to install them as a accesory. Nissan made a kit and a templet where you would drill the holes. The bracket would slide down in the body behind the tail light
  20. The power side of the bosch relay goes to the positive side of the battery. There is a inline fuse about 3 to 4 inches on that wire from the post. The signal side of the relay goes to the right head light on the low beam side. Easy system to diag
  21. No sir not backwards. Maintenance free for the first three years of ownership. Everything is covered. Very direct statement. When the VQ's burn oil is because of the compression rings collapsing and the blow by eats up the oil rings. From what I have seen it is due to lack of maintenance or abuse. Nissan uses a Crome ring with a special coating on the cylinder walls that do not seat properly. Of there is exceptions. The R50 had a break down and your mad at Nissan? When cars break they don't run right. So yours broke like all cars break so either don't drive it or get it fixed Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. BMW. They are maintenance free for the first three years-everything Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. The R50 condition is not related to the throttle body but the the map sensor/swirl valve which gets clogged. Common problem. Nissan issue the brake technology in their fail safe system in which Toyota did not. The condition you are describing is called fail safe. The floor mat issue was a cop who had been at a party with his family. The vehicle was doing over 125mph. The reason you don't hear the whole story is because there was alcohol involved. It does not make sense if you are a experienced police officer and drive cars all day long and go through the training they do why it happened. If I was driving a car that the accelerator keep going I would simply turn the key off. The ecu records data in which there was no mal function. I will back up the manufacture. It is true that some manufacturers hide known problems example Ford Explorer-Firestone tires and the Chevy ignition lock cylinder. But my friend I have been with Nissan for 32 years and am not a wear of any cover up with this company. They do stand behind their product and are diligent when it comes to recalls and tsb's Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. The bulbs are 1157 with two contacts. If a 1156 is used with a single contact then it touches both sides of the prongs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
