  1. Wow I guess I have finally figured it out.more to come..
  2. They were the four small bolts on the top of ubj, they snapped almost as soon as I started to turn them, they were soaked with PB but still snapped. I believe that the whole front-end is still STOCK from the condition of bolts and bushings. At least the cv all have new boots and the don't need replacement. I don't think the PO to my daughter took good care Of the pathy and thus rust from the lacking attention that good care/cleaning can prevent. But hey when I get it done it should last longer than ever. Everything will be replaced new or repaired properly. I'm sorry I haven't yet figure out how to get pictures up. I got the photo bucket set up. But I guess I'm just to stupid and need an 8yr old to show me. Wish we could just cut and paste. Thanks B for your thoughts/prayers. And btw I took a torch to the bushings and all it did was smoke, I spent darn near an hour and it barely moved. So hopefully the press is nicer to me. LOL
  3. For those that know my job, being a trucker,I'm rarely able to get time for garage work. However, I'm home do to an illness in the family. My wife's mom has come down with a bone cancer and so I have been supporting them in this hard time. I ask for all your prayers for a healing and recovery. Thanks and God bless.
  4. Well we will see what happens now, I finally got a press and few other tools from harbor freight. I pu a 20 ton press for a mere $100 down from $399 if that don't help I don't know what I'll do....wish me luck LOL. Besides it's cold outside in the garage temperature says 25'deg. Guess I should get the big shop heater out for couple hrs first.
  5. The duratrac's are considered contractor tires and therefore can get a warranty.
  6. Btw what is the round statue looking thing on the dash
  7. Update, well sorta. I was in working the front lift and hit, well came upon some bad snag phoo's. I had all but one upper control arm to upper ball joints bolts break off. To much rust, went AND got new ub joints and can't get the nut to back out without removing the cv shaft, the other problem is getting the spindle pin out of the stock uca. So guess I will need some more tools. Time for harbor freight, but hey at least the Seahawks beat the saints...
  8. Two ply Kevlar sidewalls have replaced the previous version of the duratrac tires. I was told by Goodyear that they are as strong as any three ply of steel/poly sidewalls. Only way to tell which version is the tire id number and checking it with Goodyear. Both the truck's I have, got the duratrac tires, and they're sidewalls look the same other than a K2 in the ply ratings Of newer vversion.
  9. I've been driving on them for almost 24000 of MY titans 25000 or so miles. I just put them on my pathfinder. There is still close to 85% left on the titans tires when I compared them to the new tires on pathfinder. Without turning off the traction control on the titan, I can't spin the tires in the rain. When I do barely get much spin, just great power down the road.
  10. Love those duratrac's, great tires...
  11. You will love those duratrac's and yes they look awesome. I went with them on my 95 pathfinder and have them on my 04 Titan. Very stable in Washington weather. I have never lost traction or control and that's with stiff e rated 33's on titan. I have lighter c rated on the pathfinder. 265-75/16' basically 32's plus they're Kevlar like the MTR
  12. updated my avatar with photo of axle & echo our American Eskimos brothers

  13. how much snow and ice will we hit this winter

  14. My uca's came marked driver side and passengers side. Maybe the got put on the wrong side's?? I'm not sure if that could be the cause...or cause any of those symptoms, just s thought..
  15. Same color as my 95, except your 4door is in better condition then mine body/paint wise...yea doaner truck is your parts truck, if you have the parts of your own to get,(if part you hv is good still) then no need to get charged at pick a part, or auto parts stores. Saves time and money, AND headaches of going to pick yard and not having what you need.
  16. Just curious, why not just take the parts from the 89 you need to make the 91 the better running truck, your looking at alot of swapping instead of improving the newer truck that already has the engine, axles and tire carrier. Plus all the other parts. If you want to keep the manual transmission that's the easier swap. Just curious we haven't seen either truck....good deal though you scored the doaner truck so many search for...congrats
  17. I wish the Trac system were street legal and lasted like a tire would. Then the pathfinder would be unstoppable. Not fair for the jeep owners who can't get where we can already.LOL
  18. To me it sounds like a steering box/pump. You should never have a 1/4 turn before the wheels start to turn. Have you changed the tie rod ends, or the upper and lower ball joints. If you don't have a steering stabilizer that may help with the sloppy feeling. A lot of drivers swear by them. I would look into the garage forum to see if you can find a write up on the steering box and troubleshooting it from there. IIRC there's a few in there that may help you
  19. What years had the heavier style. I still have those to change, didn't know that there were better than 95 to look at.
  20. Are the 95 pathfinders a chipped key? If so can you get aftermarket or a dealer item only?
  21. Then what is the vallet key? Its not chipped but will start truck, at least the one with our Nissan Titan does.won't open any storage space though. What years are the pathfinders chipped. I don't think my 95 pathfinder is. Just a plain key and only have the one.
  22. I don't regret that I bought it. I figure that it will cost me between 4-6k in upgrades and repairs. I paid 2k for it. So for a a real good trail rig and not cost me 40k +
  23. Yea tell me about it. The 04 titan was $35000 and that was almost 10 yrs ago, I can't even imagine what it would be for a fully loaded LE model titan today. Glad ours is paid for. I will check out rugged rocks. I have his site bookmarked already. I just want to keep everything uniform. Black would be okay though. Just not blue, purple, orange LOL One day I will need to get a list together with all the stuff that I have purchased and or plan to get done. It just might be a bit scary though. BUT SO VERY FUN..
