  1. I take it that none of the JIM CONNER multiple-shock brackets are available nowadays can they still be sourced from somewhere? I also read that in the old days, NIZMO made multiple shock brackets for our WD21. I also reckon non of these are available nowadays. William
  2. I just like the Dual Shock "Looks" and was under the impression that Dual shocks will give a smoother ride. I am obviously wrong about that
  3. With the BFG 33x12.5R15 tires on, I started to feel a considerable decrease in performance on the highway (esp. going uphill) Friends of mine recommended an Engine Swap into a CHEVY or a GMC V8 with nearly 350 HP (as opposed to our modest VG30E delivering 157 when they were first manufactured - I don't know about its condition now after so many years or service and nearly 100K on the odometer). I saw the pics of the VG30DETT twin turbo intercooled 350HP engine swap post. It is quite impressive but the wiring seems quite complicated. How about a V8 5.7L HEMI off a recent model JEEP? I am basically looking for a recent model engine that I can take off a recent model scrap car with very low mileage and with as little swap hassle as possible. William
  4. Hi All, I've always fantasized about having dual shocks on my WD21. If not important for the sake of off-road functionality, at least for the LOOKS of if Q: Can it be done? Q: Are the brackets available in the market or need to be fabricated? Q: Do you know anyone who did them with how to's and pics? William
  5. I agree. It makes sense to migrate to POWER mirrors. However, I like the size of the MANUAL mirrors which are nearly twice as big as the POWER ones.
  6. I am ONLY replacing the "Glass" mirror part and keeping the manual plastic frame. That's why I need the measurements . I know I will need to retrofit all the needed wiring. Any help is appreciated William
  7. Hi again, I am researching the possibility of replacing the side mirrors on our WD21 (MANUAL ones) into HEATED CONVEX ones instead. There is a seller on Ebay that sells them. They asked for the diagonal dimensions to confirm availability. Unfortunately, I am traveling and my Pathy is not with me (won't fit on the plane with my luggage) so please help William
  8. Thank you DieselBoy. That makes perfect sense. I colored the location of these BUSHINGS in Red and numbered them in the image below. Please let me know if my understanding is correct All I have left now is to figure out which Bushing fits with which and where. Most likely, the 4 identical "1164" bushings are for positions #3 and #4. Do that makes sense? What about the remaining ones? 1163 (1 piece) 1165 (1 piece) 1166 (1 piece) 1169 (1 piece) William
  9. The 3 sleeves on the RIGHT-side are the exact same length, thickness and diameter. Only the one on the LEFT-side is shorter in length.
  10. I was hoping for a more accurate reply that minimizes the guesswork during installation
  11. Thank you MY1Path It is too bad that someone had to flip his Pathy on the side for the rest of us to know exactly where these Bushings go Last question (more technical): The Drop Bushings consists of 8 pieces + 4 Cylinders. The Bushings are numbered as follows: 1164 (4 identical pieces) 1163 (1 piece) 1165 (1 piece) 1166 (1 piece) 1169 (1 piece) Images are as follows: There are 4 Bushing locations marked in RED above. The question is, which one goes with which and where? William
  12. Thank you all (esp. "My1Path"). Awaiting the photo of these Bushings please
  13. Thank you guys for the replies I am quite a newbie in terms of "Car Mechanics". Is there any chance someone could post an image that shows the location where these Bushings should fit. Pleeeeeeease! I tried 4x4Parts.com and they couldn't help with pictures. They merely gave me similar directions. William
  14. Hi Again, Just noticed that my CV boots (outer ones) are all torn. Probably as a result of my recent 3" BL + 3" SL + 33" BFG tires I am running now. So I am in the market for some new boots. I searched online and came across the following very nice RED color boots that I like to put on: Red CV Boots I am not sure though if all CV Boots are the same size or not? and if they are interchangeable between different car models or not? The RED ones I came across above were made for a VW Buggy. Do you think they would fit in our PF? Are you aware of anyone selling RED Boots for the WD21 CV? William
  15. Hi All, Just finished a 2-stage lifting project on my 92 PF XE. It is a 3" BF + a 3" Custom SL (from AC). The car looks awesome. (Pics coming soon) Just ordered and received a set of Front Differential Drop Bushings from 4x4parts.com I have no clue how to install these new bushings. All I know is they are really needed to correct the CV angles. Don't know where they need to fit? Or how to install them? I asked 4x4parts.com but there were not very helpful. Please help or at least point me to a relevant forum topic that was discussed earlier (hopefully with pics). Thx a Mil William
  16. Thank you all for the replies. It's been very enlightening So I am now upto to new shocks I believe as a first step. A) If I go with SKYJACKER, they recommend the following for our PF with Lift Height between 2"-4": HYDRO Front: H7054 (Upper Mount: S1, Lower Mount: ES25, Compressed: 11.52”, Extended: 18.66”, Travel: 7.14”) Rear: H7041 (Upper Mount: ES25, Lower Mount: ES25, Compressed: 15.57”, Extended: 26.07”, Travel: 10.5”) NITRO Front: N8054 (Upper Mount: S1, Lower Mount: ES25, Compressed: 11.52”, Extended: 18.66”, Travel: 7.14”) Rear: N8041 (Upper Mount: ES25, Lower Mount: ES25, Compressed: 15.57”, Extended: 26.07”, Travel: 10.5”) MONOTUBE Front: M9554 (Upper Mount: S1, Lower Mount: ES25, Compressed: 11.52”, Extended: 18.66”, Travel: 7.14”) Rear: M9541 (Upper Mount: ES25, Lower Mount: ES25, Compressed: 15.57”, Extended: 26.07”, Travel: 10.5”) Should I opt for the HYDRO, NITRO or MONOTUBE? http://www.skyjacker.com/images/files/363_shocksandstabil.pdf If I opted for RANCHO RS9000XL instead. Can I go for slightly longer shocks for the Front side: Recommended: RS999214 (Upper Mount:S42, Lower Mount:LS23, Compressed: 10.340", Extended: 14.5", Travel: 4.16") Alternative: RS999320 (Upper Mount:S42, Lower Mount:LS23, Compressed: 13.150", Extended: 20.36", Travel:7.21") William
  17. Hi all, I am new to NPORA but very happy to be part of this forum with similar WD21 owners. I recently upgraded my 1992 WD21 XE 4WD A/T with the following: - 3" Body Lift (Peformance Accessories) - 3" Suspension Lift (UCA + Rear Coils) - Ball Joint Spacers - RS5000 Steering Stabilizer (Rancho) - Oil Filter Relocation Kit - Open Air Intake Filter (Weapen-R) - Calmini Torsion Bars - M/T 15x10 Classic Lock II Wheels - BfGoodrich 33x12.5R15 Tires Immediately following the Suspension/Spacers upgrade, all my 4 Shocks became "fully extended". The ride is very "uncomfortable", "stiff" and "bouncy" to say the least. I informed the guys at 4x4Parts.com and asked if I needed to upgrade my Shocks. They mentioned that my REAR shocks should be upgraded to longer ones as follows: OLD: RS999118 (Upper Mount:L1, Lower Mount: L1, Compressed: 14.360", Extended: 22.19", Travel: 7.83") NEW: RS999333 (Upper Mount:L1, Lower Mount: L1, Compressed: 15.190", Extended: 24.33", Travel: 9.14") Whereas they said my FRONT ones are corret size and should not be changed: OLD: RS999214 (Upper Mount:S42, Lower Mount: LS23, Compressed: 10.340", Extended: 14.5", Travel: 4.16") It might be that the mechanic cranked the hell out of my Torsion Bars causing the front-end to stiffen like a rock. The new rear shocks could potentially solve the stiffening of Rear-end. I figured since I am buying new rear shocks, I should invest a little more and upgrade all 4 to REMOTE RESERVOIR Shocks or better longer shocks. Is it doable? Any brand/model numbers available for our WD21 nowadays? What is the maximum COMPRESSED/EXTENDED length shocks should I put instead? Any help is appreciated. William
