  1. Maybe jackson could fab up a cheap ($100-$200 range) Brush guard for the R50? Or is that price too unreasonable?
  2. Single or fixed? either way nomnomnomnomnom
  3. Which diesel engine would you be putting in? I'd totally say go for it as long as you have the know how and resources.
  4. Univega super sport converted to single speed with flat handlebars. Cat Eye lets me know how much i've ridden My dad's 1984 FJ60 or the '96 Camry..on days I want to get 26 mpg city and don't care that it drives like crap
  5. nomnomnomnomnomnomnomnomnom @ Kingmans 620...looks sexxxy
  6. how about something abstract...such as Otto, Hans or Mungai?
  7. my 1998 is in the shop here at school getting the clutch slave cylinder done up. Guy said the parts store quoted him $95 for a master cylinder..thus causing the price for hte master and slave cylidners to be $310 for parts tax and labour. I opted just for the slave. I know most people recommend changing both at the same time, so I am considering asking how much labour would be if I provided the part. Thus being said, I found this one does anyone know the quality of this? Will I get what I pay for? Does anyone recommend a certain make? Thanks IV
  8. @my1path: Will do. No noise from the lifters..just some puttering that I assume is something to do with the exhaust...going to get my CEL read this weekend hopefully. @Silverton: lol, I hope to keep my R50 until it has at least 200k...we've had our 84 land cruiser and it just was broken in at 200k a few months ago...I did the math..if I had my pathfinder as my first car with the miles it had on it hwen I got it (129K) by now I would have hit (or about to hit) the 200k mark...hopefully though. My plan is to drive it for as long as i can then at some point ill prolly get a little fuel saver (sentra anyone?) and keep it as vehicle #2. Im gonna my own thread: Is it possible to wire aux lights on the bumper to the main headlight switch, causing them to come on whenever I turn the headlights on? Can this be done without a bunch of splicing and stuff? IV
  9. Was just lurking in the WD21 section and saw recommendations for the higher mileage engines to run 15w40 or 20w50. Would this be a good ting to do in the 3.3? If it is alright to do, is there any benefits from doing so? Any downsides? Im at 135k and time for an oil change is approaching. IV
  10. Not too shabby, I will look into having that done
  11. @ Vmodi: How much did the change cost you? @My1path: Thanks, I lurked it, but I cannot tell if that TSB covers my transmission also? It says up unitl 95. Did they use the same transmission in the R50?
  12. Before I get for asking, I did try a few searches and didn't find much of what I was looking for, if this topic has been discussed though please do point me in the right direction...anyhoo: How do I go about checking the manual tranny fluid on my 98 r50? I am assuming that I have to undo the plug and stick my finger in. Where abouts is the plug located and will I have to buy a special tool to undo the plug? WIll I need to somehow jack the truck up? (at college, no jacks with me) Again if this has been covered sorry for posting this Thanks in advance IV
  13. As of recently it sounds liek my engine is puttering (for lack of a better word) after it revs up. Looked under the hood while it was running and pulled on the throttle and it sounds like a mixture of a putter and the noise a leaking air intake hose makes...not sure if i am hearing things, as it has always run kinda loud. It may also be rust aruond the Cat converter. Anyone have an idea what it may be? Changed oil about a month ago and it was fine, no clumps or chips of anything. IV
  14. groovy, then I may be one of the many to add it to my list of things to get!
  15. Is there any size difference in the auto and manual trannys? Meaning I haz a manual 98 XE, wondering if there would be any issues bolting this in? Also does it seem to obstruct access to the oil pan nut? IV
  16. Tanks for all the input...my tires are actually new as of 5k miles ago (p.o replaced just before selling the pathfinder to moi) but I do need an alignment done. I was just wonderin' since the wet roads make for @!*% traction i figured i could use the 4wd, but glad I asked. I appriciate that website link all about 4wd...cheerz!
  17. Good thing I asked. Only did it once in a torrential downpour at about 20mph for less than a mile. Rather irritating though as my back tires will spin out and ill slide all about if its wet enough out....
  18. Not sure if that has been adressed, but if I were to drive my 98 xe in 4high on wet and rainy pavement, is there any worry of it messing anything up in a bad way? I know I shouldn't drive it in 4wd on dry pavement, not sure about the wet stuff though. Thanks IV
  19. Sounds good to me...gotta get the atm (parents) to go along with it...who knows how long that could take
  20. Sounds good...now the hard part is not givign in and spending the money on it
