  1. Cheers for the thumbs up guys. Its been a great wee project, with a few small un-doccumented hickups along the way. But I have listed these in my origonal post. The nudge bar in the front, (alloy), was purchased when I got the vehicle. It was just a simple matter of getting one with the correct spacing for the chasis rails. It bolts in place where the factory hooks were, I replaced these with rated hooks. The next project is putting the winch on, dual batteries and New Mini ITX PC case, (these cost a fortune here in NZ so im trying to get one in from the states), then get it off to the cert guy so I cn get the WOF. I have a 28 day grace peroid for the WOF. I would have liked to have got the new rear and side bars before certification, but I have all but exhausted my funds.
  2. Today we did the body lift on my Terrano, here is a link to it. There was a couple of little bits that caught us out, esp the rear two bolts, as is explained in the posting. http://www.offroadexpress.co.nz/viewtopic....f=18&t=9717
  3. I have a plan in mind now, see this thread on my local forums for details. http://www.offroadexpress.co.nz/modules.ph...&highlight=
  4. Cheers for that, but I don't seem to be able to get the link working, can you please check it is correct?
  5. Nice to see some replies about winch mounting. I plan to mid mount my winch on a seperate bracket with some tube style bars extnding from both sides of the bracket, similar to the smittybuilt ones. First I will do a 2" body lift, and retain the factory bumper in its new place, as the tubes and winch will sit where the bumper used to be. What I would really like to see is how the ARB or other styles of bars are attached to the Pathfinder's front chasis rails. Can you please post some pictures of the mountings? Thanks all.
  6. Has anyone mounted a winch to their Pathfinder? I want to see how you mounted it in relation to the front chasis members, height above and how much forward placement it has. Pictures would be great.
  7. Actualy here in NZ we call them Terrano's, otherwise theyre exactaly the same. Oh, cept we drive on the left hand side of the road.
  8. Greetings All, I was at a 4x4 club annual Xmas picnic a couple of weeks ago at a local farmers property. He let us use an area that supported a small obstical course. During the day one of the members produced his latest product, a ground anchor said to beat all other ground anchors hands down. I for one could not believe how compact, light and easy this product was to assemble and set in the ground, single handedly. So impressed that I have pre orderd one before my winch is mounted to the tuck! Have a look at the following website and come to your own conclusions. http://www.lan-cor.com I know you will be as impressed as I am.
  9. A bit late to post on this, but I have had my door linings off more times than I can recall. I use a thin engineers steel ruler (12" one) to pry the switch cluster, door opener surround and lining off. Puts less strain on things with the wider surface than a screwdriver. Be careful of the plastic clips that hold the lining on as they sometimes can pull out of the hardboard inner lining backing. When this happens, after it is all off, replace them where they should go and superglue (CA) the surrounding area to stiffen it up again. Works a treat!
  10. Cheers TerranoNZ. Yes that is Worsleys, in an almost standard Terrano, It looks a little different now. Thanks for the offer of the A/C compressor. What type of compressor is it? Like your light bar, want to do something similar soon. I also have a "Thule" roof rack that needs widening, (insert, looking for an aluminium fabricator here), and some brackets (z) made so I can bolt it to the roof. I want it sitting to the rear of the roof, and do not like those gutterless brackets. Too much plastic in them for my liking. The rack I have was ment for a Ute roof, hence it being a little narrow for me.
  11. Hey there guys, I'm another Chch Terrano nut. Mine is a 95 TD21 auto. Have done the usual suspension lift etc and bash plates under the bely. Soon to be adding an extra A/C pump for on-board air supply. Have done all the associated plumbing for it with the air tank tucked behind the spare wheel bracket. I also have an on board PC for GPSing too with a 7" wide screen on the dash. (this is causing a few headaches in trying to decide on the final mounting system as I want it removable) Am currently trying to decide on a pattern for a winch bumper as im getting a 10000lb winch for Xmas. Want a tube style winch bar as I feel they look less weighty in the front. Here are a few pics of my setup.
