  1. Here is a clean way to install a CB Radio Antenna. I purchased a rear hatch bracket specifically for the SUV. After it was tunned, I'm getting less than 0.1 SWR on channel 20 and less than .5 on channel 40. I would highly recommend not using dual antennas on any vehicle except for a large truck with Mirrors that extend out (SEMI Trucks). Read up on it and you will know why. I routed the cable through the gromet behind the left rear break light. Works perfect and it's clean. You will need someone who knows how to solder a PL-259 Connector since you will need to route the cable itself through the gromet and then solder on a new connector. Let me know if you have any questions on this install. Works great and gets good reception. Of course the best place for an antenna is center on top of the vehicle if you want to drill a hole.
  2. Stick with your open diff's if you never plan to off-Road. Otherwise, go ARB lockers all the way for the Rear. That's what I'm doing this week.
  3. It really sounds like an exposed wire that is rubbing against the chasis (ground). Check those roof lights you installed and make sure there are no breaks in the wire touching ground. This would blow a fuse.
  4. Wow, great write up Rick! Please let me know what you find out about the rear springs. Was going to order up the 4" WJ springs but after what you said, looks like i might have to go with the 6.5" springs and maybe cut them down to get the 6" i'm looking for in the rear. I just don't want that racked look in the back and no vibration. Keep us posted on your findings and let us know what the right cut will be to make it perfect. Tim
  5. It will be the 4" WJ springs which will give it a 5.5" lift in the rear with the WJ adapters. All is good. Hope it doesn't look to racked in the front with the .5" difference in the rear. LOL.
  6. So would the 6.5" springs be ok to run in the rear then? Do you guys think it will look to racked up in the back as opposed to the front?
  7. Regards from Sakhalin, photo the test
  8. Today I purchased my SFD 4" lift from Krypton Fabrications. I was advised the following from Andrew at Krypton. In regards to the lift springs, iron rocks offroad carries 3" Jeep WJ rear lift springs which will match a 4" lift on the front of your pathfinder. If you are lifting a total of 6" in the front, I would recommend using the 5.5" lift springs they carry for the WJ. I checked out the website and found this. It goes up to 6.5" but not a 5.5" inch spring. What did you guys go with since I can't use the springs from the AC 2" lift i have now? WJ Rear Coil Spring (pair) Quantity in Basket: None Code: IR-WRCSP Price: $149.99 Desired Lift Height: 3" 4" (add $5) 6.5" (add $15)
  9. www.4x4parts.com They have 2" lift packages you can purchase for the pathfinder R50. I would recommend going with the KYB-GR2 struts in the front / 2" springs in the front and rear. Rancho 9000 adjustable rear shocks. Purchase 2 camber kits for the struts. Buy new OEM Nissan strut bearings / don't buy the KYB's.

  10. Don't worry about that front bumper, it's battle damage. LOL. You can replace it with a steel one for off-road use.
  11. You can fix that rear end from drooping by installing an air lift. I have one in mine and it works great. Check out 4x4parts.com and then also get the air compressor.
  12. From my experience, you can't go up a hill with the O/D off towing a trailer that's around 3,500 lbs or drive on the freeway at 60 mph, it really bogs down the engine. You need to keep the RPMs up above 2,000. I actually do have electric brakes on the trailer and using a prodigy electric brake controller with no problems on brake fade.
  13. I'm towing an enclosed 12x6 trailer and always use the OD with no problems. Otherwise your constantely on the gas.
  14. Or a 2" lift kit or SFD with good rims and tires. You won't get much more performance out of that engine with just simple add ons. The engine is great like it is.
  15. I got more lift out of the AC springs and very happy with the results. It will drive different however, not that soft ride down the road anymore FYI. You will love it. Now the next step is the SFD to get a total 6" of lift. LOL.
  16. I clean the under carriage after every run. Here is a great way to make it black. I use WD-40 and it makes the black under-carriage and even the wheel wells even blacker. Have fun
  17. LOL, really. I was going to ask you earlier silvapathy if you had any plans to come out west. We have some great runs with a bunch of technical hills that will flex that pathy well. Or i might come out your way LOL, need advice on that SFD i'm about ready to purchase from Kryptonics. How long did you wait for the kit?
  18. Now a also went and bought rims and tires as well which there has to be some clearance so your tires don't rub on the struts. I would go to the pinned topics on wheels and tires on this forum and read what others are using. Most went with a 15" black rim and BFG A/T tires, like 32's or 33's. You will also need a 1.5 inch adapters in the front if your tires rub which will give...

  19. Hello GApathfinder. This is what I would do. Go to www.4x4parts.com, talk to a Mike. Tell him you are looking for a package deal for a 2" lift on your pathfinder. The package I bought there came with a set of 4 coils, two rear and two front which give you your 2" lift. 2 KYB-GR2 struts and Rancho 9000 adjustable rear shocks. I would recommend two sets of camber kits for the front ...

  20. My apologies for going off topic here, need to create a pinned post on CB antenna placements since I have a lot of experience with CB Radios since the 80's and 90's. Just noticed the picture and couldn't resist on providing some positive feedback that could help. Will move this to another section. Thanks Nunya.
  21. Thanks Nunya, found the section and just posted my "sexy flexy" pic of the day.
  22. Thanks, need to post some more. That run we went on yesterday was amazing. Need to get more Pathy owners involved over here. Most of these guys all have Jeeps. Couldn't find that "Sexy Flexy" section on the forum. Anyone have the link available?
  23. I bought mine with only 4 miles on it, a 1998 SE R50 which was about $29K at that time.
