Couldn't edit my reply so, I was saying the headlight switch is a common item to replace, you can clean the contacts inside the switch but your probably better off buying a new one. Rockauto.com had the switch for $39.89 for the non cruise switch and $46.79 for the switch if your truck has cruise. There is also a code for 5% off your order that can be found on the forum also Here is what the inside of the switch looks like, this pic is of the switch out of my 90 Nissan Sentra and is probably very similar to the Pathfinder switch:

This is from the 94 Factory Service Manual, as this is the first year FSM that is available online ( you can down load it free from the "garage" section, I edited out the truck wiring and the KA24 engine wiring that this diagram used to also show as it does not apply for the WD21 V6 pathfinder:

is the new muffler smaller in overall length or the pipe diameter? If the muffler body is smaller than stock it will probably just make the exhaust louder, if the pipe is smaller diameter it could cause a restriction and you should get the proper diameter muffler. Do not think the muffler is causing your problems though, Have you hecked the computer for any codes? A full tune up would be a good idea if one hasn't been done, also check your air filter.

You should try to pay closer attention to how your tires are wearing, they don't wear like that over night. At least if you have a bad alignment or worn parts and catch it quick enough you can rotate the front tires to the rear and they may straighten out. But as Adam said either the alignment is off or one of the other parts he listed is worn, best to jack up the front end one side at a time and see if there is any play.

The junkyards around here, at least the u pull and pay ones, it doesn't matter what engine you buy whether it's a 3 cylinder out of a Metro or a Northstar V8 out of a Cadillac they are all $300 (with the core charge), I guess finding a Montero or Diamante with the same 3.5 would be the problem.

Did you try to find a Diamante? I see the 3.5 engine you need was available in those also.

A properly sized single pipe will outflow dual pipes. When I had my V8 Dakota after doing research I ran a single 3" cat back, flowmaster kit, ended up replacing the muffler with a 40 series because the 50 series it came with wasn't throaty enough for me. But most people will agree duals sound better, the argument generally is running a single pipe is lighter, easier, cheaper (one muffler vs two), but the pipe is larger so space may be a factor. as for dual pipes people generally say, that using two pipes the pipes are smaller diameter, so they can tuck up closer to the body, And duals allow more performance options when dealing with high horsepower engines.

What vehicle did you pull it out of? Were than any other of the same vehicle that had the same one? To tell if it was possibly aftermarket?

I guess it comes down to preference, I had an original flowmaster on my old hardbody and it cracked so I had the exhaust re-done from the cat back in SS, I found a shop that could bend SS pipe, even though it was not mandrel bent there were no big kinks in the bends, and he used 2.25" pipe, I provided the muffler I went with Borla to keep everything SS. Sounded good too, I do have a few video's of how it sounds.

I made notes on Precise's pics, I think this is what he is referring too: It does look like when the brackets are flipped you need to swap left and right, you can see the bracket on the inside the metal comes up, 90's towards the outside than 90's back up.

$200 ! man if that's what they cost now they really went up from when I bought mine, think it was $100. The part number the Borla tech told me would replace the one I had years ago, 2.25" in/out is 40351 and Summit has them for $129

the back of the bumper? Precise Has an ARB on his PF, I'm sure he can tell you or has pics of what needs to be done to get the ARB on. If it was me I would (if it was in the budget that is), pick up the ARB before they are no longer available and than worry about getting it installed. single 2.25 works best, Personally I like Borla mufflers.
