I'm going to strip as much of the paint off as I can and try to paint it with what ever paint I have laying around. If I buy anymore paint it will be cheaper to just buy a black grille. Thanks

I would still ground the radio to the metal below the radio.

I need to finish stripping off the black paint than I think I'll try using a different brand of paint this time. Either that or I may just order a new grille probably would be cheaper. Sucks the grille from Rockauto is less than what the shipping costs !!

The Pathfinders came with 31/10.50/15's stock on the stock 7" wide wheels so they will fit no problem, being that your 95 is an "XE" you may need to crank the torsion bars and adjust the steering stops to accommodate the 31's. If you get a wheel that is wider than a 7" make sure it is the proper offset or the tires may rub when turning. With a 3" body lift 32's will fit, 33/ 12.50's would require a suspension lift and slight trimming, 33/10.50's will fit better but only a few companies make that size.

Well that didn't go as planned !! Kind of pissed off right now, plus I just sliced my finger with a brand new razor blade !!! Finger is taken care of for now. Went out to check the clear on the grille, it was still cloudy so in an area that won't be seen when it is installed I wet sanded a small area with some 2000 grit and water, it made the clear look like it was sanded, than I hit that spot with some Mothers Pre-cleaner and wiped it off, it looked really good !! So I did an area right in the middle, same result, so I wet sanded the whole front and around the headlight openings, that's when things went from good to OH CRAP !! I noticed a finger print and a mark that looked like my finger pushed the paint !!! So I wet sanded those areas and got it best I could, minimizing the 2 nicks I saw. Hit it with the pre-cleaner and the whole thing started getting really soft. I knew it wasn't long enough to be working on it that's why I tried an area that wouldn't be seen. Well, long story short, I started taking the paint off with a razor blade, it pretty much came right off all the way down to the chrome, area's that wouldn't scrape off I used some brake fluid and that took it right off. SO back to square one, 2 days of painting wasted, plus the cost of the paint and clear, and one nice razor blade sliced finger on top of all of that. Maybe I'll just buy a black grille !!!!

I just finished a few coats of the clear, it isn't looking so good right now, there are white area's. I'm going to let it dry for a while than maybe next weekend if the white is still there, I'll try to do something to get rid of it.

Well just got off the phone with Krylon, I guess I'm limited to a gloss clear as they said I should stay with the Fusion clear over Fusion paint. It should look good anyway. Off to the store for some clear. Pics later.

Had the same thing happen when I had my dakota, they were painting a building right next to our parking lot at work, had white specs all over the truck, clay bar took them all right off.

Noticed last night don't know why but the paint has glossy and flat looking areas, thought it was because I put the grille after it's last coat of paint in my shed with the AC on, but I checked it again few minutes ago where it sat in the shed with no AC on overnight and it looks the same. So I just re-coated it with what was left in the second can and it's sitting out in my screen room right now, figure sitting out in the heat may help it dry better plus no bugs to get on it. Still waiting to hear back from Krylon on what clear they have is compatible with the Fusion paint I used.

Not sure on the 2003 but Most Nissan's I have dealt with as far as the radio do not have the ground wire in the harness, best to just run the ground for the new radio to metal some where near the radio.

That is true, we went 4 wheeling a few times each week, weekends were on the beach deep sand. The original tranny lasted 105K miles which the tranny guy said was good, than it was rebuilt, trans cooler and gauge installed, second rebuild was at 175K, not sure miles the third time but it was over 189K as we were living in Florida by than.

If you order it from Crutchfield, they have it for $149 which I know is more than Amazon but they don't charge tax or shipping and also include the harness for the radio, the trim plate, the instructions, antenna adapter and have the adapter for the Bose for $14.99 if you buy it at the same time you buy the radio (otherwise it's $29.99). I always buy from Crutchfield when I can, free lifetime tech support is nice too !

After owning my 87 hardbodyfor 14 years and having the trans rebuilt three times at $2000 a shot I swore I would never have another auto trans Nissan again !! But When one (current 94 PF) falls in your lap for $500, couldn't turn it down.

Does his truck have the Bose system?

Just checked on Crutchfield.com, weird, for a 2003 SE with or without the Bose system it says it fits, I changed it to a 2003 LE and it says it doesn't fit?? Crutchfield says to install this radio no installation kit is required, all they give you if you buy it from them is a trim piece, and the harness.

Thanks, as I started to build up the color I noticed how it started to look like a OEM black grille.

Just put a few more coats on the grille, I see Krylon makes a matte finish clear, have to find some, the Ace hardware I went to does not carry the matte clear only the gloss clear

This is my first one, sometimes it shifts hard, sometimes it doesn't want to shift and I have to take my foot off the gas slightly than it will. I figure if and when it goes I'll go to the place where I got my JDM engine and pick up a trans

Just did the test on mine and it came back with steady flashing so I guess that means no faults that can be tested by the self diagnosis can be found.

I changed the fluid and filter a while back and blew out the tranny cooler but it didn't make a difference.

I'll have to check this out, my trans sometimes takes a few to shift from first to second

Well today I picked up 2 cans of Krylon Fusion satin black paint and painted the grille. Going to see if they make a satin clear, don't want it to be too glossy, looks pretty good the way it is. Here is a before and a quick after pic I took :

Removed the drivers door panel to check the lock cylinder door unlock switch thing. It was ok, Removed the door lock timer and re-soldered a bunch of the connections and it is working properly again.

Do you press the switch and let go right away? On mine I press and hold the switch for a few seconds. I would use the wiring diagram from the 94 FSM it's most likely the same.
