  2. I was looking on Kijiji and I found something haha. Look at the sticker on the back window. Whos rig is it ?? http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-SUVs-trucks-vans-SUV-crossover-1995-Nissan-Pathfinder-4X4-offroad-truck-W0QQAdIdZ188462434#
  3. Okay great, I will also look for the thread. So I should just make the A frames out of lumber? I was just thinking of putting 2x4's threw the doors and getting some of my buds to lift it off haha.
  4. Hey guys, I have learned today that my frame is fubard. Everything from the transfer case back is falling apart and it is starting to crack in some spots. I don't want to sell the truck because I have invested money in it already to make it mechanically sound. I want to do a full restore on the Pathy. From bottom to top everything repaired and rust free. I have the time and most of the knowledge. My father and I have tackled projects similar to this before ( Minus the frame problems ) What I am looking for is advice on taking the body off the frame. The steps required and the easiest way. I am hoping to get the communities input in the whole project and let everyone follow along with pictures and videos. We can build a nice thread of anyone wanted to do this and also show some of the hidden surprises and how to fix them! Thanks!
  5. Welcome, ive seen some of the new pathfinders on youtube. They perform good! I think after your done working on it you will have no problems keeping up with the other guys and our antiques haha
  6. My 1995 has Jeep springs in it, I didn't install them but it's something to think about. You could probably grab a couple from the wreckers for cheap.
  7. Lol wouldn't there be at least 5 Fire extuigishers at the gas station?
  8. It's not a learners, and ill make sure to have my Passport
  9. What have you checked so far? Start with your fuses, Then bulbs, if you need to pull out the wires by the lights. Turn the switch on and check with a voltage tester to see if they are getting power that far back.
  10. I like my manual, I just find it a lot more fun. As a young guy, I like to show off. DO some 180's in the parking lot, maybe a break burn, some drifts. Not only that but when you drive a stick it's more fun. You just feel like your driving the car. Sure it's more to worry about but you get used to it after a while, I don't even have to think about my shifts now and sometimes my hand and foot will make important corrections without even thinking.
  11. Farmers can do what ever they want ahha. When I worked on the farm I remember towing things that I didn't think the tractor brakes could handle.
  12. Not bad at all, did you just use a sawsall to cut the pipe?
  13. The changes went good, but I had to get my mechanic to change the starter. It finally broke ( Almost in half ) I couldn't do the starter my self, you really need a hoist for that. The fuel filter and plugs went fine. I also bought a new spare tire rack from the wreckers, as mine didn't come with one haha. Im painting it and putting it on today. Thanks for your help guys. Ill post pictures when it's on.
  14. Okay thanks, cause I was hearing that I couldn't.Thanks for clearing it up for me, now the trip to the states will be that much closer.
  15. If you have any after market off road lights connected to the battery take them off and try to start it. Mine wouldn't start, I took my lights off the battery and it worked fine. It must have been interfering with it somehow.
  16. Hey guys I want to go on a road trip to the US from Canada. I know I need my passport, but am I able to drive in the states with a G2 license? Some people are telling me I need a full G. Thanks
  17. Thanks for the warm welcome guys. I can't wait to go to one of the meets, maybe I can help organize one down the road.
  18. Holy crap lol, I guess thats why it's good to have a fire extinguisher handy eh? Good thing your okay, I guess you stomped it out before it spread hahaha?
  19. Okay thanks for the tips guys! Ill be sure to tell you how it goes when it's all done and over with. At least now I won;t be breaking anything
  20. So I don't even need to take anything off? Just a good extension?
  21. Well I have seen a few sites, some for just Pathfinders some not. www.4x4parts.com is what a lot of people on the forums seem to use, not sure if they have the engine parts you are looking for. Maybe it would be best to go directly to the engine part manufacturer? Your mechanic should be able to order what you need right threw his shop.
  22. This is great advice! My Pathy didn't come with a spare tire rack but I am going to pick one up from the wreckers this weekend, 60 bucks spare tire and all. Im sure it will need some grease, but I am going to have to repaint it first before I put he grease on.
  23. I called my mechanic the other day and asked what he was going to charge me to change the fuel filter, O2 sensor and spark plugs. I almost hung up on him when he said 2.5 hours alone for the spark plugs. I have changed spark plugs in other vehicles before, is there something harder about the 95 Pathfinder? It looks like the air intake manifold is blocking the left plugs but that shouldn't be hard to take off eh? Could one of you pros tell me the steps so I don't demo my truck hahah. Thanks
  24. Ha thats what the Bush Bar is for! You don't even need airbags haha
