  1. Yeah, like I said I do no know for sure. My mechanic is good and could probably make any springs fit but he is not always right.
  2. Much better man!!! I am with you all the way, the back should be a little higher than the front. You look just about done the the SFD, whats next on the list? Mine is in the shop right now getting a skid plate made.
  3. Just to answer your question, it says that not because of the lift but because if you up your tire size when you get the lift it your tires will rub the strut. You can get around this using wheel spacers on the front. Or don't go too big with your tires, I ran 275/70 R16s for 3 years it had about 1mm clearance from the strut. I live in the UAE and I just got the A/C springs in the back of my truck, they are fine (I preferred the stiffer MD OME but they don't give as much lift) but when I got them here my mechanic asked me why the hell I ordered from the states when Patrol springs fit just fine in the back of a Pathfinder and would give 2 to 3 inches of lift. Anyway I don't know for sure if this is true but it might be worth looking into.
  4. looks great man! I think it looks fine the way it is, no need for spacers in the front.
  5. I ran OME just in the back for 3 years and I thought it was fine, but it is a bit higher in the back. This is OME HD springs and shocks in the rear only. This is loaded for camping and the parts are about 2 1/2 years old at this point.
  6. Like this??? Had to do this for my pathfinder, had huge power steering problems (its very hot here) but I put this thing on and my p/s pump that was not working started to work again, that was 2 years ago. Cooler is from a patrol. mod cost me 15 bucks.
  7. Totally understand what you mean, mine is still not finished because I have been waiting for parts from America for 6 months. It took me 4 tries to get the strut spacers right and my camber is still a bit off. I am also getting a skid plate made soon, and it will be similar to fleurys but it will be one solid piece all the way back to the missing link. I am doing this to try to improve the strength of the 4 lift blocks as much as possible. I would love to see some videos of your truck off road because I am really interested in what kind of abuse SFDs are going through. Anyway I am happy to see your truck almost finished and looking great, you definitely beat me to full functionality.
  8. Very nice, you did a great job on the whole project. I really like the wheel tire combo, makes me think it might be okay to go from my 15" back up to 16" rims.
  9. I have used that kind by Bushranger in the sand, it was a hot day and the exhaust tube melted. I will never trust one again, you need a jack you can rely on. Besides I always thought exhaust jacks were more for getting unstuck, not for actually working on the truck.
  10. That is only because you think wrong
  11. Well Done Sir. Good luck with the Camber adjustment
  12. I have no experience with diffs to try to do the job my self, and it was hard enough to convince a mechanic out here that the diffs are the same just different ratios. Its just difficult to find good price and capability out here in the UAE. I am not too worried though, my pathfinder is reaching the limit of its off road potential and I am looking to get something a bit more capable and a lot stronger.
  13. I have a Manual 3.5. It came with 4.3s and a LSD but I swapped for 4.6s from a 3.3 and lost the LSD.
  14. Keep in mind that he is using 1-1/2in spacers, the wheels have no problems with the tires but you have to get them out far enough not to rub on the struts.
  15. Oooooo... Shiny! Already did mine but if I hadn't I would have got that just because its pretty.
  16. My 15s clear the brakes with brand new rotors and pads. It depends on the 15, but for most its probably not worth trying.
  17. I agree. Or spray a touch of oil in there, that completely fixed the hatch on my 4runner. Or try to flex the rear suspension then open the back (hopefully this will not be the right solution because if it is your frame might be a little out of whack).
  18. It does not sound like the problem that I had but I just thought I would throw this in. When I first got my pathfinder I had huge power steering issues, first my pump went out (no problem it was old) so I replaced the pump with a new one. Then 5 days latter that new pump went out while driving in the desert and when we checked it we found that the reservoir cap was missing. Went and got a used pump this time, it lasted 2 days. Flushed the system and got another used pump. Went good for maybe a week and then failed, by this point I am crying my self to sleep and night and throwing tantrums in the street whenever it breaks down. I bit the bullet, I take it to Nissan and pay $1,500 and replace every component in the steering system and in doing so get a 3 month, 10,000k warranty. 3 and a half months, and 15000k latter Power steering starts to die again During that three months I had found a new work shop to work on my car (a place where a local guy builds his own rally cars) so I took the truck to them and told them my whole ordeal. They installed steering oil cooler from a Nissan petrol, I paid $50 for parts and labor and I didn't replace anything else. That was 2 years ago, and it is still going strong. That's my horror story about that pathfinder, and I don't know anyone else who has had that kind of trouble with their power steering.
  19. The 3.5 has been surpassed by the 4.0, if anyone is going to do a swap to a 3.5 they might as well go the the R51 4.0 considering they are pretty much the same engine. The Chevy 350 swap sounds like a cool idea, I would probably put more money into performance mods on my truck but I am deciding now that the R50 is a bit to week structurally invest to much more money in. If you do do the swap and an SAS at the same time it would probably be a good Idea to beef up the front frame rails if you can figure out a good way to do it, or you can just go the way Tyler went and replace the front frame with a new one.
  20. I stared longingly at my pathfinder as I am still waiting on parts from America to fix mine. Now I am driving a Honda civic rental
  21. Holy crap you edited my name on there while I was complaining!! well done Sir!
  22. These spacers don't look that complicated to make (maybe they are but just by looking at them they look fairly simple for someone with the right tools) could one of our R50 fabricators maybe have a go at it? Krypton, NX4, Jackson Auto sport. Just a thought
  23. I have heard this as well, the VQ35 is pretty much topped out on reliable power as is. You can add more but the engine just wont handle it well. 250hp coming from a 3.5liter aluminum block engine is pretty good though I think, lighter and much more powerful than the VG engines.
  24. Yes allowing for Nissan to collect big bucks whenever someone loses a key! I hate dealers
