  1. yeah, as I said above the wheel jiggles. does anyone have an alternative to the kv40105400 wheel bearing lock nut tool? besides the punch/screwdriver method. Im looking for something that can get me proper torque... I wanna give that a whirl before replacing anything. also, since it only happens in four wheel, I suspect it may be the needle bearing that rides inside the spindle. anyone have experience replacing that baby?
  2. how difficult is this job. it looks like I would need a bearing lock nut tool. what else is there to thin about? are the bearings pressed into place? our can they be put in by hand? I really don't know where to begin. is there a how-to i'm missing on the site? thanks wilson
  3. by shimmy I mean front to back and up and down not in and out. does that make sense?
  4. I replaced both of my cv axles yesterday. it was super easy thanks to info I got from ya'll. thanks! when I went to take apart the auto locking hub on the passenger side I noticied that I was able to actually shimmy the axle a bit with the snap ring still in place. and later with the wheel in place. In two wheel drive she drives like butter. when 4wheel is engaged, there is what i can only describe as a roughness(bad bearing feeling?) which seems to be localized from that front passenger wheel. she pulls like a bitch to the right in 4 wheel. pulls left in two wheel. the left pull is probably just an alignment issue my questions are these.questions are based on my theory that it is a wheel bearing A. why only 4wheel? is there just more pressure onn the bearing when locked in 4wheel? B. what is involved in replacing them? press? special tools? My other theory is based on the pull right. perhaps the hub is bad and I'm only getting three wheel drive. whata ya think?
  5. if I'm unable to pull a fast one, would anybody be interested in the shocks? Slade, thanks for the effort man!
  6. they don't appear to carry it.
  7. anybody know where I can get superlift ucas?
  8. what the deal with rough country? I email them thrice times asking wether I can buy there ucas outside of the kit they sell for the hardbody.. no reply. then I got a guy with no product knowledge and left me hanging on the live chat. the second live chat guy was knowledgable , but informed me that you cant get the ucas outside of the kit. anybody else have some insight on where I might get the ucas? or had bad costumer service from them? jus sayin' wilson
  9. I need to replace the gasket between my thorley headers and the factory midpipe. does anyone know what the dimensions of said gasket are? also what it is made of. It appears to be metallic, i assume because of high heat. Would a regular(paper, cardboard) gasket work? or would it combust killing me and my ride in a ball of flame?
  10. I had one of those. it took the power right out of it. also the mpg went straight in the @!*%ter. hows it work for you?
  11. those spacers look bitchin! where did you get them? are there any cons to said setup besides all the ladies wanting rides all the time? I'm a busy fella and can't possibly give them all a ride.
  12. also what else does this feed besides the headlights?
  13. have the perfect tool for that . but nope, I broke it. now that I got it open though, I would say you shove it in the opposite side.
  14. how in the hell do I release the conductors from the green plastic housing? http://s738.photobuc...nt=IMG_1192.jpg http://s738.photobuc...nt=IMG_1191.jpg http://s738.photobuc...nt=IMG_1190.jpg

  16. first, I searched. I always search. I generally find little. my rear tire is mounted in my rear cargo area. I find this troublesome. is there any good options to mount it on the back. I prefer the rear mount as opposed to the roof. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. wilson
  17. you know I have the same questions.I too have been having some tranny/tranfer issues http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=24399. I have the same thing happen to me with the drain plugs when I changed the fluids. I'll be interesting to see what's what. good luck!
  18. explain y you think it might be starting 2nd is there no pick up?? exactly. if I just punch it she reaches third eventually well might help you take off in the snow less wheel spin... haha that may be, unfortunately I live in the desert... wanna trade?
  19. Has anyone used one of these services? for a fee(deductible) they promise to pay your bills. this particular service will take vehicles with mileage as high as 250,000. sounds sweet, but lookin for any first hand info I can find.
  20. well ,if it makes you feel better I'm not out of the woods yet. did your truck do all of these things? It seems the only symptom I have now is the starting in second gear fixed by restarting. did you have this? how would one start trouble shooting such a thing?
  21. your always there for me precise1. ha ha
  22. I'm looking to install a magnaflow 22760. I received the part in the mail today and took it out to the truck for some recon. It appears the stock cat's flange is threaded and the bolts attach to it thusly. The replacement cat has no such threads. Now the cat came with no bolts and I assume that there is some gaskets necessary to seal this baby. I happen to have some grade 8 bolts, nuts and split/locking washers handy. Are these acceptable fasteners? bear with me ,I'm new at this. but I'm having a good time! wilson
  23. yes. you think I may have two issues going on here? I figure if the problem has been happening this long(1.5 years) the tranny would probably have failed my now. unless the computer is doing something strange. which I suppose wouldn't affect the mechanical functionality of the trans. I guess I'm going to learn to pull codes from this sucker!?
