after a slight electrical malfunction this on this weekends trip, I've decided I want to clean up and upgrade my electrical system.first I wanna replace the factory battery terminals with something beefier. I have some military spec units on hand, but I need some new terminators. anyone know a good place to source quality cable connectors or terminators? specifically the a new termination coming from the alternator. also any good ideas to tie the large black connector on the positive terminal into such a unit?

I'm looking into getting a gps for the truck. not so much for city driving, but for remote trails and such. I also like to keep track of mileage and speed for tracking fuel consumption. anyone have suggestions?

all right heres another question. while tightening the driver side inner rod end I noticed something odd. lets see if I can explain this. when it works correctly you reach proper torque and the whole in the bolt lines up with a slot in the castle nut, thus you can slot the cotter pin through. my replacement pulled through thus the nut bottomed out on the threads too low for the whole/nut/cotter pin engagement to work out. I then stripped the hell out of the threads lower on the threaded portion. this was a raybestos professional grade tie rod end. so I figured it was, perhaps, a faulty part. I then went to auto zone a picked up a MUCH lower quality part to see if it would fit. again the same thing. so what gives? is my center link beat?

I recently replaced every ball joint and rod end in the front end of my pathfinder. they all came with a bolt in place of the zerk as well as an uninstalled zerk. do you think it is advantageous to leave the bolt in place to protect the joint from mud and crap? or does the zerk provide adequite protection. or am I thinking too much.

I'm thinkin about puttin two lightforce 170 on my bumper. anybody done this already? also at what point would these impede air flow enough to cause heat problems or is that a non issue?

I adjusted the bearing and can get no movement twisting the tire form top to bottom while its raised. I do,however, get plenty of movement left to right( steeering). the center link does a sort of twisting thing that I understand the HooHaa unit takes care of? how can I tell if the rod ends or idler arms are bad?

yodel! so I recently put some larger tires on my hoopty and I noticed that the steering feels a little sloppy. kind of a side to side kind of slop. like theres a bit of play. so I figured that I had some bad ball joints as she was lifted recently as well. so I started poking around to see whats what. I noticed on the center link there appears to be a really convenient mount for a steering dampener. now I've never looked through the steering section of the FSM till just now, and I'll be dammed! there is a steering dampener on the schematic! is this something that comes standard and I've been missing all these years? or perhaps only with the trucks that came with 31s, which I now have? now if I sound like an idiot don't worry.. I am
