  1. The gods have looked favorably upon your pathfinder! Haha but really the odometer I believe is driven off the speedo cable. Did your speedometer not work to, or just the odometer?
  2. Hey now! Lol yeah I'm going to have to change the name cause all the rust in the car is starting to go away. Well I found that taking the glovebox out and removing the plate behind it allowed access to all the wiring. I found a plug for the antenna, and used the sneaky old indian trick of taping a piece of wire to the antenna wire that I pulled out to make putting routing it back in a breeze.
  3. I'm replacing my front fenders, and I need to get the radio antenna disconnected. I don't have the power antenna just the standard one, but I can't seem to find any kind of plug to unplug the wiring from the mast? Is there some sort of plug or junction box in the wiring in between the antenna and the stereo? I would think there would be something to avoid fishing the whole long cable out....
  4. You should watch the Dirty Jobs episode where Mike and some others work to remove a 2 door model Pathy from the bottom of a frozen lake. Oh the horror!!!
  5. I get a lot of e-mail forwards from family members, but I thought this one was worth sharing. Definitely not something for the faint of heart, but looks like a really cool experience! 6. Hey I was wondering if there is a special tool to remove the press fit bushings in the rear suspension links and panhard rod?
  7. Okay so size-wize it'll hold it, but the added weight won't cause the body to crack because of stress? I know the tire carrier (outside) on mines seems to be real beefy, I guess I'm just paranoid from all the horror stories I heard about other Jeeps back when I had my Cj5.
  8. I'm needing to replace my spare, it's the original and is showing it. My best friend's day runs a tire shop and was recommending getting a full-size spare (31in) instead of the original small one. So my question is will the stock tire carrier hold a 31in tire mounted on a lego rim without any problems?
  9. Well I adjusted the t-bars and now it sets at the appropriate ride hide. Thanks for the help! Although what you said about the compression rod bushings got me to thinking if mine need to be replaced. I don't know if or when they have, but I don't want to replace them if they are still in good shape. Any way to test them, either visually or some other way?
  10. I know it doesn't make any sense, but I have pictures before and after and the front is clearly setting lower. replaced the cv axles a while back on my dad's and we both noticed it sat lower after we put the new ones on.
  11. Today I just finished replacing the cv axles on the front of my 88. After I got everything put back on and lowered the vehicle off the jack I noticed that the front end was sitting a bit lower than before I replaced them. Did I somehow knock the torsion bars out of adjustment? I've never messed with these before, but looked at the how-to in the garage section. What I'm wondering is do you just jack up the front of the vehicle and then loosen the locknut and tighten the bottom nut on both bolts on the crossmember? The how-to section was a bit more involved, but I'm thinking that was just because it was showing you how to get more adjustment if it was already maxed out?
  12. From the diagram that looks like exactly what I need. I didn't see an option to specify the color of the striping though Hmm hadn't thought about it, but the dealership may still be able to get them.
  13. I don't know if this has anything to do with the problem you're having, but check to see that the EGR valve is not stuck open.
  14. I'm thinking about having my 88 pathfinder repainted in the near future. It's long been needing it, and i've convinced myself to do it. I'm wanting to paint it back to the factory "flare red pearl" color, and I would like to keep the pathfinder letters and striping on the side to retain the factory look. I was wondering if there is somewhere that sells this striping kit, or am I most likely going to have to get it custom made?
  15. My dad has a 95 model, and during winter months the temperature gauge barley moves. The heater gets plenty hot, and gas mileage stays the same. During the summer months with the A/C running the temp gauge can get up to about halfway between hot and cold. Maybe these are just cool running engines
  16. Haha good point! Mine sure could use a helping hand... It's getting better though!
  17. Maybe this will shed some light http://www.movieweb.com/news/NEr7CY5VrfcYuA
  18. Sounds like the wrong kinda wash to me! I sure appreciate it!
  19. Thanks, good to know! So I'm guessing the hose in question is supposed to attach to this port (or vent) on the side of the trans?
  20. Hmm yeah that's what I was wondering. I couldn't see any evidence of fluid leaking out of the hose, so I'm thinking you might be right. Just wanna be sure.
  21. Hey guys. I was looking up underneath my pathfinder earlier today and noticed a hose on the passenger side of the transmission that was unplugged. I looked around to see if I could tell where it could've come off of and I found a port almost on the very top of the transmission that points diagonally out of the side, with no hose attached to it. Well common sense told me that the length and size of this hose was just right to fit on this newly found port. The other end of the hose goes to a t-fitting on some metal lines that run along the passenger side frame rail. I didn't just want to ignorantly plug this in without knowing what it was. Any ideas. I'll try and post a picture or two tomorrow if I get a chance. Thanks!
  22. Mine look exactly like yours. Does the bracket on the guard go on the outside of the tail light, or between the tail light and the little cover on the side of the tail light?
  23. How'd you guess? -_- This is gonna be a fun return....
