  1. Well, to my dismay, he bought the Durango. I appreciate all the comments and all the tips on what to watch out for. Oh well, Thanks everybody!
  2. Trying to keep a old thread alive. Just though I would throw this in...
  3. He doesnt like to drive a clutch with the amount of driving everyday, hes a commuter, but needs a suv. Thank you once again for all the replies. Its hard to speak and argue for other people. I emailed him this topic so we will see. Thanks again!
  4. Ok, a pathfinder in the seattle/tacoma/olympia area. Oh yeah, he cant drive a clutch either. Searched all over Craigslist, autotrader.com, cars.com, autopages. There are more vehicle for sale out there than what are listed.
  5. See, I know Nissans very well(being that I work on them everyday). the problem lies is that he can not find a pathfinder in his price range, $4000-6000. I know that sounds crazy but he is having a hard time finding a decent rig. Everything he has looked at has 200k plus miles, needs everything or has been into a accident and wasnt repaired properly. Having the money to repair stuff right away isnt a option. But I can plead for a Nissan all day, but its his choice. That is why I need info and I pass it on. Ok, anybody got a 94-95 Pathfinder they want to sell? Thanks for all the help and please continue to add your 2 cents.
  6. Ok, good. The truck has 118,000 miles on it so I am not suprised by a few leaks. They are pretty minor like around the oil pan. I dont like dodges either, but its his choice and his money.
  7. ABS control unit I believe. I have my XM Tuner mounted on top of it!
  8. Hey fellas and ladies, got a quick question. Has anyone owned a Dodge Durango? My buddy is looking at buying one because he cant find a desent Pathfinder. I looked at it today for any mechanical problems and it look ok(few small oil leaks). Like I said, I need to know the good, bad, ugly or whatever. The Big Guy in the Sky knows that I will be working on it for him. And yes, I know its a Dodge(Drips Oil Drops Grease Everywhere). Ok, let me have it! Its a 1999 w/magnum V-8, 4x4, auto.
  9. See this for what it sounds like..... http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=11392
  10. Motor mount? Trans mount? Be a little more specific about when it happens.
  11. Spools lock both rear axles together all the time. They turn at the same speed. On the street it gets very difficult to turn and manuver, like in a grocery store parking lot. Of road, they work well, but some break a lot of stuff with them. I think everyone on this forum would tell you to get a air locker, or a mechanical locker(Lockrite). Or even a rear lsd, that is unless you already have on. There have been many discussions about lockers on here.
  12. Here you go fellas, hope you like it....
  13. Those little charcoal pellets will get in every component in that system all the way up to the purge control vavle under the hood. Yeah, blow out the lines several times and you may want to inspect all of the components. Replace the canister at the end.
  14. If they have the right equipment, get them to Match-Balance the wheel and tire. For the bigger tires and wheels, that is the best way to get as much vibration out of the assembly. Make sure they didnt use sticky weights on the inside of the wheel and you just didnt see them. But if they messed up, they should pay to get it right.
  15. With the exception of the hummers and the FJ, which really hasnt proven itself yet, all of those vehicles drive like CARS! I dont know many Lexus owners who would imagine driving off road. Remember 4WD is now a luxury/safety feature!
  16. Most likely a control unit problem. I have the wiring diagram and will scan it tonight and post it.
  17. That "Trail Rated My A$$" is the funniest thing have seen in quite a while. Our nissan dealer owner here, owns the jeep/chrysler dealer next door. I know some of the guys in the shop and chat with them once and a while. I have been absolutly amazed at how many front and rear diffs they repair or replace on a weekly basis. Now keep in mind Jeep uses Dana axles for the most part. But how often do you hear about a wrangler having rear end problems, say in for favorite 4x4 magazine? Ok, now guess who started using Dana axles in thier new pickups? You guessed right kiddies, Nissan. How many Titan owners do you know that had to have the rear end replaced? Ive done a ton, thanks Dana. The press has taken that and spun it so badly, Nissan has had to cut back production of thier trucks. Why hasnt jeep taken such a big hit? The Big three dont want no Japanese company being better than them at what they supposedly do best. Dana is part of that. Trail Rated, its just propaganda to keep old companies and old ideas afloat. If that wasnt true, why is the wrangler the only front solid axle suv still on the market? Too many market analysts belive there is no market for another vehicle in that demograph. That is why Nissan, Toyota and even Honda have had to come out with vehicles that are new, fresh, appealing and very cable of doing what any driver asks of them. I am sure that in our Jeep hating community, there are enough people who would buy a 2008 Nissan Patrol W/locking front and rear solid axles(built by nissan of course), if it exsisted in the U.S.. Ok My 2 Cents have been thrown in and I could continue to ramble on and on about this. I will say this however, tell everyone you can about how good your Pathfinder is. When the demand is great enough, the Manufacturers and Aftermarket companies will respond. Then finally I will be able to get a bolt on rear bumper for my Pathy!
  18. From the list of episodes on the pwerblocktv.com website, there are no episodes listed in november or december as of yet. The episodes recycle a couple of times. Ive noticed this year that new episodes are introduce a lot sooner. I DVR those shows every week so I will keep a eye open. Electrifyliak, I have itunes on my home computer and it works fine for itunes. If you prefer media player, just set it as your default player. Yeah, you will probably have to pay for it.

  20. OK, well the show, as I hear was ok. It was all nissan cars, mostly 240's. the only truck was a Toyota, what a shame. Oh well maybe next time that Pathfinders can represent. I will post pics or a link as soon as they come up.
  21. Lucky devil! Missed mine. Of course I forgot to put it under my profile.... I thought there were mind readers here...
