  1. Sliders are probbly going to be my first attempt at fabbing parts for my Pathy. And I'd have to agree, slowing down through the mud puddles might be a good idea. It looks good on pictures, but it's a pain to clean. But quite a few of the trails had deep muck that was actually coming into the engine ba a bit I believe regardless of speed. Is there a way to prevent that, or does it just come with the territory? Anyone ever cover up their grill when the go whelling to try and keep stuff clean?
  2. Oh, and the check engine light came on as well. But the check engine light didn't come on until after I did a quick coolant flush yesterday...hmmmm
  3. As a side note, the Jeep guys were very impressed by the abilities of the Pathy. They were suprised at how well it did climbing hills, trudging through muck, etc. They actually thought I was climbing hills with more ease than them.
  4. So my Pathy went offroading for REAL this time. 44 acres of hillclimbs, mud pits, and all that fun stuff. I went to an Xterra/Jeep meet in Lake Geneva Wisconsin. I'm going to post up some pictures later, I put two below just for fun. Now here is a question now that I have experienced just how beat up your truck gets when you hit it hard all day. My radiator and AC condensor were caked full of mud. I powerwashed it 3 times now, Had to powerwash my engine like mad, because she just kept overheating. My belts (which are all only a few months old) are squeeling like an old junker and I'm still a lil worried about her overheating. What can I do to prevent this stuff other than not drive through deep mud and water? Has anyone found some tricks to keeping the engine bay clean and happy when wheelin in some nasty muck for a day. I feel like I maybe didn't take some neccesary/common sense precautions and I'd like to hear some tricks of the trade. and I'm definately looking into making some sliders, because my rockers are trashed now.
  5. I'd be in contact with the Authorities and the landlord...which is what everyone else stated as well. Don't panic, they can't keep your truck. And good thing you didn't pay him in full.
  6. Good point. I guess you just have to take em off to flip the seats
  7. I'm probably going to get a set. Figure if you ever hop in your rig all muddy or whatever it will be a ton easier to clean. Just take the whole seat cover out.
  8. I haven't found anything from energy suspension for our trucks. Link? I've used their stuff in nearly every car I've built, and was really dissapointed to find nothing for our pathy.
  9. Hmmmm, They are fairly simple, I should look into just making some. I really think it would be a major improvement on the R50.
  10. So am I retarded or does no one make beefier sway bars for our trucks? The stock sway bars are pretty wimpy if you ask me. I bet it would do a lot for the handling to beef them up a bit, beef up the links, and pop in some poly bushings. Stiffen things up a lil. Make us more truck like.
  11. I have to go the poorman's way too. I'm begging my mom's fiance to teach me how to weld.
  12. Yeah, I may do that actually. I'm checking all sorts of options, even pricing out custom work at a local offroad shop. Stupid pathy, can't just leave it stock right?
  13. Lucky bastards with your WD21's!!!!!! I'd be happy just with just a body lift...can I do that though? Nooooooooooo stupid unibodies. You guys get all the cool stuff lol!
  14. Dumb question...has anyone tried this on an R50? And will I need either Four REAR JGC springs to do this? Also with the Ford springs, is it only the rear springs that are useful or do you just strip all 4 off a truck? Lastly, why did you cut them?
  15. That might not be a bad idea, but wouldn't it be a pain getting in the hatch? And if I'm ever towing anything the spare has to go in the cargo area. Too many decisions!!! I'm pulling my hair out deciding on how to tackle my suspension as well lol. Never thought I'd find so much crap I want to do to this thing. And to think it's just my daily driver LOL
  16. I don't think I'd ever need the sway bar disconnects. Actually I'd like to upgrade the sway bars...but don't see any offered anywhere. I'm actually thinking about ordering suspension pieces as I go (Lift, bushings, etc) until I have everything I need to overhall most of the suspension at once. Instead of teking it apart over and over. Just that noise is driving me insane and it will be a few months before I have EVERYTHING.
  17. I had a feeling roof mounting would throw the CG off a bit. Especially in windy highway driving which I do a lot of, I could see it being obnoxious. Maybe I'll just weld up a bar until I can afford something to mount it on the rear.
  18. Ok, or another idea since I kinda like the look of NOT having my tire underneath. Roof mounting. How many of you do it, and how poorly does it affect mileage, handling in wind, etc. Pretty much the pros and cons. I could find anything when I searched. Oh and is a hi-jacker pretty much useless on the plastic bumpered R-50 since there is nothing to get it under to jack well with?
  19. I've found good prices on them on Ebay. Shipping will be a bear I'm sure though. Thinking of just waiting on that one though. I'd prefer doing a full winch bumper.
  20. And my first trick will be a new rod for raising/lowering my spare/raising and lowering the jack...yep I lost it one night some how. <------IDIOT So my question is if someone could give me the measurements for theirs so I can make one. Nissan wants $73 for that stupid metal rod. I'd like to mount my spare back underneath my truck until I get a rear swing gate or something, and unfortunately I have no way to do that now.
  21. Time consuming, but really not all that difficult. The hubs look sooooooo much better.
