Perfect. Now I have a new problem. I got the alternator from a Villager at the JY. Started to clean it when I got home and took it apart. I cannot get it back together because the brushes are in the way. Is there a trick to keep the brushes pushed back to allow the commutator shaft to slide in?

I recently learned that it is possible to swap a Nissan Quest (110A) alternator into a Pathfinder with minor modification. Has anyone done so if so I would like to have instructions, with pics preferable, on how to do so.

With $1000 I'll probably swap my rear lsd for an ARB. That will make my 2WD tackle the mucky stuff

Same as Zon suggested a few posts ago $26 for all ( ground to Va).

It's a driver, black, electric. working and matches the picture on your truck. Not having a digi camera is quite inconvenient for me. I could have instantly show you what it is.

I have a spare from a 1992 if you're interested.

I got different results when I replaced my fuel pump (also with one found at a junk yard). - Hissing gone - Fuel gauge was more accurate. Mileage improved I had the fuel filter replaced at the same time as well.
-
It's your fuel pump. It's its way of letting you know that a replacement is likely due.

Temporary spare. It's a truck, a full size spare should have come standard.

Yup, the key code sticker is in the glove box.

You don't hear dings when you're in a hurry to get somewhere, like going to the grocery store under pouring rain. I was so forgetful about this that I added one. My other vehicle comes with auto headlights.
-
Oh!... and no auto off headlights

Weak stock tranny cooler (could have been better) Rear drum brakes ( I hated them so much I converted mine to disk) Manifold studs ( Was not pleasant to have them replaced) Tire carrier opens on the right ( I would have preferred left) Not enough leg room for rear occupants and lumbar for front. Aside from those mentioned, the rest of the truck was well though of.

That looks like a nice enhancement. How hard was it for you to remove the instrument cluster and do the swap Kn0xville? If it is a straight forward job, I might consider getting one.

I mean "effective" as in giving a good contrast at night and not giving off lots of glare in your face. I have never seen them before.
-
How effective are these devices as an upgrade? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/i390-92-93-...1QQcmdZViewItem Has anyone use them at all? They look too good I am skeptical about them.

call me lucky but those are the results i have with my 1990. original alternator died at around 255k. original fuel pump replaced at 268k (last year). It started making a noticeable hissing sound but the car was running fine. Unlike you mws, I had two belts broken (AC and steering) while driving and they somehow managed to cut my transmission cooling hoses. The result was an expansive transmission replacement.

what microcontroller is used i the ECU?

I think (but not quite 100% certain) it's a 6803 similar to Motorolas' 6800 as far as mneumonics are concerned. -
My e-mail has returned as "undeliverable" to your address. Too bad
-
I had two scanned diagrams e-mailed to you hope they are useful.
-
No additive, that I am aware of, is required for the transmission.

You should change you transmission fluid on a regular basis, 10k to 15k is a good rule of thumb. I managed to have my first tranny last for 213K. Be aware to check your belts as well when you change your tranny fluid. My second transmission failed because a broken belt managed to sever the tranny cooling lines and I was running dry before I realized what happened. Putting a tranny cooler is also an exellent idea and bypass the stock cooler like SC88Pathy suggested.
