  1. It's an Autocraft Titanium battery. I should have had a solid 5 years with this thing. It was not a cheapy made in China kind of thing. It was a fairly pricey $87 battery. The life is too darn short and I don't think I have the receipt anymore.

  3. It was all the battery. It's running now with an other battery. It won't start with the original battery. the autozone guys says It tested bad had some shorted cells in it. It's kind of quick for a battery that's barely a couple years.
  4. Came back from work, gave it a try and still nothing. Now the battery is going low. I'm giving it a rest, recharge my battery overnight and try to find a solution in the morning.
  5. After a day idling, I decided to take the truck for errands this morning. Cranked the truck and... nothing. Tried several time again still nothing. No panic. I checked all fuses and all are fine. Tried to crank and still nothing. I disconnect the fuel pump hose and verified fuel was being pumped. Put it back in place. I checked the distributor for sparks when I crank. It looks good. I see sparks I checked the ECU and looked for code malfunction. ECU flashed code 55. I'm reading the service manual for possible hint for what's going on but nothing I can pin point as a culprit. This problem seems tough for me to solve despite being familiar with this truck. Any ideas as to what I should look for?
  6. Maybe I can suggest you check something. Right on brake pedal there are two switches on top and two plastic pieces in front of them. If one of the black plastic pieces is missing, that's the cause. I took pictures to show you what I'm talking about. check to see if you have both of these plastic parts near the switches. If the one for the cruse is missing, you can turn on the cruise but you can't set it. Hope that's it
  7. I'm waiting for the weekend to fix the problem but I see by reading the postings that there is no consensus on a solution. A few questions about the terms used in the postings: I guess BJ stands for ball joint. TRE probably tension rod ??. What's a CL If it's a toe, can you provide a solution to fix it? (I'll look up what's a definition of toe on my own) I'm familiar about engines, diffs, brakes but never mess with suspension aside from putting new shocks. Which is relatively a simple job in this truck.
  8. Quick question. Should it be done for both sides or just the side that fell in the ditch?
  9. Got it. I'll get shims at my next visit to the junkyard. Thank you both. http://i628.photobucket.com/albums/uu2/v6engine/DSCN5809.jpg

  11. With shims at the frame where the upper link is bolted on? Got to understand that beside from shocks, my suspension knowledge is limited. I never dealt with it.
  12. Well, how? My rig is a 2x4. I don't think I have ball joints up front.
  13. I took a turn too fast on a dirt road some months ago. The right tire landed on a 15" ditch. The steering wheel was off center afterwards and I fixed that. I just want to learn how to do my own alignment. Both tires have the same symptom. Simply put: What do I need to adjust to solve this problem? (How to pictures would help)
  14. Has anyone in this forum made it to 400K or 500K yet?
  15. I swapped my open diff. for an LSD years back. The diff is acting funny and making noise when I make turns and when I back up. Since I made the swap I never change the oil but I was sure the oil container said that it was OK for LSD (don't remember the brand). I change the oil today it looks ok, the magnet has some build up. The vehicle still behaves the same as always. I have good knowledge about the benefits of an LSD but not much beyond that. My questions are this: Can a knowledgeable member tell me what will really happen should someone put non LSD oil into an LSD diff? Beside wear, what can cause the banging feeling I feel when I make turns? Does someone know an effective oil for the task (I used PEPboys stuff)? My vehicle: 90XE, 2WD, almost 300K, light off roading. I searched the forum first, the results are quite inadequate.
  16. The Pathfinders have an interference engine. The 95 4Runners do not, they are more forgiving should the timing belt break
  17. Almost at 300000 miles, it should be a breeze to get there. I took good care of the truck for the last 16 years and it returned the favor. I only have to correct the rear engine seal for now. I loose about a quart to the ground between oil changes that's why I am not too worried. It's just a nuisance to see oil stains on the ground.
  18. While on this topic: What is the best way to pull the seal out ( ie. tools or techniques)? Mine leaks and it's just a nuisance after a while.
  19. Mine has split personality. I rarely come across another Pathfinder with two tone.
