  1. The biggest tire you can run is 31x10.50R15. With stock gears and 31's you'll be fine. Don't know about changing the speedo cable, just divide 31(new tire size) by 28.9(stock tire size) and then multiply by speedo MPH. This shows you how fast you are really going. ex: 31/28.9*60=63.36 MPH. Also do this with your odometer to check your gas milage. BFG A/T's are great. The 3 digit number is a metric tire size. Go to a tire site such as discounttire.com and look at the tire calculators. The plate for stock gearing is on the passenger side fire wall and is gold.
  2. Hey I am up for anywhere around here. Hoping to sell some stuff and have a locker by July. Last time I went to evans creek (which is near Elbe, right?) it was just me and my dad but I didn't really go too far into each trail but stock, I don't know about that. (I have 32's now for those of you that went last time). It seemed pretty torn up and the first hill I tried pretty much requires a LSD or locker. We should plan something though.
  3. Yah i fill up about every 2 weeks and try not to drive if i dont have too. One of my teachers started riding his bike 25 miles each way to and from school so he doesn't have to drive. Alot of people in Tacoma work in Seattle about 45 miles away. Here I paid $3.52. People should start taking public transportation if they can't afford the gas. I don't know how much it costs to take the bus but I am sure that the government would be much more willing to keep bus pass prices low compared to fighting the oil companies plus you are helping the environment.
  4. If we actually got something planned I would save up the money and drive anywhere on the western side of the rockies, depending on the dates.
  5. Man I have a bad back from sports but my seats didn't hurt too much on either of my 15+ hour trips and I have an XE.
  6. Hey thanks 88. Do you happen to know of any write-ups on an ARB install?
  7. Thought of some of those ones that I could not remeber earlier. 1. ARB air locker. Planning on buying one. I remeber 88 saying in a post that they, require professional installation, why? What makes tham different than lockrights or detroits? 2. Twin stick shifters, what is the deal? Pros, cons? Saw alot of yotas in Moab with twin stick transfer cases. Thanks, 93
  8. Depending on the day, I am there. Closer to Anarcotes then everyone else so far.
  9. Thanks for all the answers. I thought that a pumkin was the differential. Does anyone happen to know what this is for 5-speed?
  10. Hey good to hear things are getting better. Are you planning to get a website going again soon. How much is it for a full set of skids shipped to Western Washington, powder coated or not? Thanks, 93
  11. With all this talk of sas I was wondering what... 1) The difference between radius arms and control arms is? 2) a "Pumpkin" is? "Driver's side drop"? 3) To figure out what your gear ratio is in 4-lo do you just multiply your ring and pinion with the t-case gears ex: stock-4.375 X 2.0(t-case)= 8.75:1 and crawler gears- 3.7 X 5.13=18.98, is that how it works? I know that I have more that I just cant think of right now. Anyone doing an sas that would like to do a write-up it would be appreciated. I am going to keep the pathy as a trail rig when I can afford a new car (a year or two away, probably). I know that the average joe can't do it, and I am not a mechanic, but I would just like to know what it really takes, since I will do it eventually. Thanks, 93
  12. Yah i found the same one as NC95Pathfinder but i got mine on ebay for 125 shipped. It came from an ebay store so they are still there.
  13. We changed the timing belt and it wasn't too bad. When I start up my car and it ticks really fast for about 3 seconds, it is because the oil is a little low and just needs to be topped off.
  14. Hey I know that it is really late to sign up but I am confused as to how you sign up for the Jeep Safari. I have gone to rr4w.com but what i read said that you had to sign up for the newspaper but their is an online version. I printed out the online version and it says that on page 36 there is a trail preference chart but when i look all it only has a map of all the trails. Was wondering if anyone here could maybe help me out if they have gone before or already registered? Thanks
  15. Hey Jim welcome back. Joined while were you gone but i am in Tacoma, WA so hopefully I will get to meet you in person on a trail run or something. Glad to hear things have turned around.
  16. Hey i was wondering if anyone knew what happened to Black Panther? I have tried going to their web site and it says that it can not be found. Is it just my internet or did they go out of business or change their web site? Thanks
  17. Hey i was just wondering if anyone knew of a place to get the longer shocks for the back if they even make them. I have not been able to find them. Thanks, 93
  18. Hey i was actually going to get those here soon. 4 wheel parts is offereing them for 150 including a steering stabilizer or just 36 a piece iirc plus no shipping if you have one near by.
  19. Hey i think i am going to be there if everything works out. They took away our spring break at school because of snow days but i can get out of it. Planning on having a 3" body and 32" BFG A/Ts then but other than that nothing. Actually going to snowboard buy would like to see all the ridiculous rigs down there.
  20. Hey i was reading the latest issue of crawl magazine, i had already read all of the others, and they did two different snow runs. The fist one on page 86 was called Freeze Your Buns Run. They said it was in the Pacific Northwest on some logging roads and there was like 3 feet of snow. The second one, pg. 126, I beleive they said was Reiters, could be wrong. I was wondering if anyone knew where the first run was, if anyone reads crawl magazine. Thanks, 93
  21. Yah i am in Tacoma and we got about an inch. Unfortanetly the sun is out and melting it all but i have already missed 4 days of school this year and we usually dont miss any. After the wind storm we didn't have power for maybe a day, but we have a generator so it didn't matter that much. During the floods we had one street that was about 8 inches deep and maybe 30 feet long of just water and some other deep puddles. So we havent been too bad, but yah we are getting snow, wind, and all the rain.
  22. I have never had mine overnight at a mountain, but when i get in after about 7-8 hours of sitting it usually idles about 1300 rpm, at close to 4,000 ft. It normaly idles at sea level when it is cold at about 1700 rpm. So i would say it could be from the altitude but 700 rpm when it is cold seems a little low.
  23. That was a really good game. Best one i have seen in a long time. Problem is now the National Championship is going to be really disappointing to watch cause they just dont get much better.
  24. Yah that is what i do every time i fill up and i get an average of 15.4 mpg.
