I would like to buy some rear tow hooks but i dont know where to put them. The obvious place would be to put them on what looks like a tow point, but the owners manual says not to tow using them. I read an old topic that made it sound like they used the meatl tabs with oval holes next to the gas tank. I was wondering if that is where everyone put theirs or had the tabs break (they are pretty thick)? P.S. I would post pics but cant find one of the cords for the camera, sorry.

Other than purenissan.com i have not found anywhere to get the calmini stuff. You could look in the parts for sale section, but i doubt that anyone is selling there springs and torsions, worth looking though. I do not have the lift myself but have heard that the quality is much better than the 4x4parts.com stuff, but i dont know how much different the rear springs are.

Thanks Eli, someone told me to buy thorleys off of summit racing but the only ones there are for the D21 pickup. Are those the same or do you have to modify them somehow? Did you buy yours from summit racing or somewhere else?

i have had a leak for a while now, around 4,000 miles, what additional problems could there be?

I have looked into the thorleys and pacesetters. I cant seem to find the thorleys for a 93 XE 5-spd can anyone help me out?

like they said it is for steep hills and you put it in 1st or reverse which ever way you want to go and flip it on, i dont think you have to hold it but i could be wrong, hold the brake start up the car and hit the gas as you let off the brake. It is all in the owners manual if you were wondering.

I agree, if you consider off-roading driving really fast on a dirt road a then turning really sharp off-roading then stock the FJ is better than the Xterra, but if i could afford an FJ i might consider it, but I would wait until they are older so i would not feel bad about doing some damage

Is the recommended octane rating in the owners manual? Or do you guys happen to know it for a 1993? And i am sure you would have mentioned it if it was a problem but did the 2002 still have the exhaust manifold problem?

yah i am getting 33's from a friend for FREE because he is getting new tires. They dont have much tread left but free tires and wheels who can argue

yah my dad came home and listened to it and agreed with 88 on the fuel pump. He said that it was fine but does that mean that it is wearing out or is it normal for that to happen with 196,xxx miles?

hey i just went out to Belfair today but it got cut a little short because of a leak of something coming from the back. It sounds like a hiss like a leak to me but i am not sure we have felt around and you cant feel any air so it isnt major, knock on wood, but i dont know where it is coming from it sounds like it is the whole back but my skid back there is fine and the exhaust isnt dented or anything. How can i find out what it is, just use the old soapy water trick or take it to a shop. Any recommendations in the Tacoma, WA area for a shop would be nice if i cant figure it out. Thanks, 93

hey slick u build your own engines. that is preety cool i want to learn how to do bodywork, but how much does it cost to rebuild an engine and bore it out a some more like .030. just somewhere in the ball park is fine.

that makes more sense thanks now that i have enough money for my lift i gotta save up for the tires. How exactly do u trim the fenders, do they have kits or do you just eyeball it?

yah i am in no real hurry to clean it but mine isnt that bad, you can still see what is what and read any lettering on there

I have read in some magazines about using a pressure washer but i am not so sure about that and read some old posts on stuff like simple green and castrol super clean. How do you use that stuff, do you run it trhough your hose and just spray it on or do you have to do it by hand and get in all the little tight spots. Just wondering what would work without to much time cause it wont stay clean for to long but my dad keeps complaning everytime he looks at it about how it used to be so clean. Thanks, 93

Hey i know everyone asks "which size tires can i run w/3 in lift" what i am wondering is if you can run 33s with only a 3 in lift if u trim the fenders or do u have to have more than 3 in. because if u can fit 31s stock it would make sense to be able to go more than 1 more in. Thanks

hey thanks mine are 4.375 which is more reasonable than 4.88 and either i dont know how to use the search function like u guys or there was no thread on gear ratios that was found

Does anyone happen to know what the stock gears in the pathfinder are because according to the chart in the FAQ they are 4.88, but i dont think so, but i could be wrong.

:help: My headlights keep going out every time i go off roading. The driver side cover has a hole so i am pretty sure the light gets hot and then water cools it and it shatters, but the last time i went out i only went through 1 puddle that even came close to reaching my headlights and then they both went out. The passenger side hi-beam still works but i looked at it and just the wire in the middle between the other two broke on the low beam wire. The passenger side cover is fine. I was wondering if anyone has had this happen or had any suggestions on what to do because at $13 per bulb it adds up really quick. Thanks, Rob P.S.
