  1. Just lookin for like a 1/2 to 3/4 inch to level it out some. Sprayed some penetration crap on them, and took a quick little jaunt for some more brew to help work it in. It doesnt sit that low, but after a couple years ago fixing the sag in the ass, its time to take care of the sag in the front. >.>
  2. I figured as much, just wanted to make sure.. I'll have to use the spare tire jack, and maybe some bricks or something to keep the front wheels off the ground. Hoped that too would make it easier. Thanks for the confirmation though Before I went and mucked @!*% up. lol
  3. In the garage section there is a thread started about re-indexing the bars. I dont require that much adjustment really. Just wanted to crank them a few turns.. So, in this thread, there were pics, which are now not working.. Anyone have some pics of this stuff here? Really lookin for like a 1/2 inch adjustment up in ride height, which I am pretty sure can be had without taking the entire shebang apart. That and I dont have jacks or stands atm. Just hoping for someone else to be able to point at and say.. Yes, that is the bolt you turn, etc.. Thanks in advance.
  4. I am no auto tranny expert at all. However I have run into something similar with TH-350 trannys. Nothing at all suddenly from having everything working right usually signifies a loss of pressure somewhere. I am unsure if our trannys have valve bodies similar to a TH tranny, however.. When one of the TH trannys "burned" up its valve body gasket, pressures would go flying all over the place and you'd go no where fast.. Generally happened from "generous power braking".. Any input on this from someone who's taken theirs apart?
  5. Yeah, I wanted to finish up the job today. I got the set, and just used the one gasket. No worries really. I'll have the extras for later.. Cleaned up the nasty oil crust all through the plenum and throttle body. Used brake clean and a rag to get as much as I could from the lower intake. Looking at how nasty that was, I went for the cheapo EGR delete (sheet metal and gastket sealant between the EGR and intake)and every vent on the valve cover that was routed back into the intake was plugged on the intake side, and the valve cover vents are now vented to atmosphere through a K&N breather. Finally no more finiky idle, and it seems to be much more responsive now. Very pleased after a days work
  6. So, removed the upper intake plenum today for replacement of the IACV. The gasket between the two pieces of intake looks like its still in good shape. Button it back up, or replace the gasket? Gaskets available in my area come in a kit for 50 bones. What say you? Its kinda a pain to remove all the junk and remove the plenum, and I would like to not have to do it again from a leaky intake, but saving 50 bones is also a nice thing.
  7. No auto climate control AFAIK. I mean, the temp slider has temps written on it, however they are no where near close.. hah.. No airbags or the like, and everything seems to work normally with it unplugged. /stumped
  8. After getting into it yesterday evening, the fluid is still in great shape. Brightly colored, and no odd smell at all. Figure I will leave it alone for the time being, or until I can rig up that siphon thingy for putting fluid in the dipstick tube. I know it'll use more fluid that way, but it will flush out a lot of the old fluid.
  9. Planned on doing this soon, adding a new tranny cooler. Figured I would change the fluid as well. (been about 30k since its last change). While I have all the hoses off and such, using the output, in a bucket to catch the old fluid.. Will the pump in the tranny be enough to suck new fluid out of a container? Figured it would be a decent method to help "flush" out the old fluid and replace with new... Think this would be an acceptable method, or would this even work at all?
  10. Yup.. I need a new soleniod.. This one is busted.. Boneyard was of no help, he told me to check the parts houses.. I dont even think he tried to look it up.. I'm lookin at 160 bones otherwise.. Hoping to find a good used one somewhere, hopefully.
  11. Ok, heres a pic. The orifice it goes into is clean as well. Really dont have a pic of that part, because I used fancy tools to remove it without removing the intake. (2 little phillips screws).. Anyway. Im guessing its just bad, I can juice it with 12 volts and not so much as a peep from it. These do go bad as well Im assuming.. right?
  12. Awesome information man. Thank you very much.
  13. So this is not the sensor on the throttle body? Where is this little guy located?
  14. Throughout the summer, Ive been poking around trying to find out why mine is doing the same. Plugs, cap, rotor, cleaned the MAF, and throttlebody.. Checked and cleaned multiple connectors.. I can take some pics of the little sensors and such pretty easily if need be, because honestly.. Its hard to for me to put the name of the part to where it is on the engine.. (For some of the sensors anyway). Now the TPS is on the throttle body correct? Is this considered the IACV (idle air control valve) as well? If so, thats been checked and good. But same symptoms. Idles great in park and such (it used to idle low all around but through the cleaning and tune up, thats fixed). Put it in gear, and I get just under 500. AC on without the gear and just over 500. Goes to 400 to 450 maybe in gear with the AC on. I know this isnt right. I did the diagnostics with the computer, and it says everything is great. Did the engine on testing as well, with similar results.. If anyone has anymore ideas, I would be happy to hear them.
  15. TP Never leave home for the hills without mountain money.
  16. Ive never noticed a sticker on my rear end >.> I do know is has an LSD though. Never heard of "ghetto lsd" either. Sometimes when like one wheel is hanging in the air you might need a little brake action to help coax the diff into working a bit harder. At least, thats how we used to do it in the full size chevys. Even the posi in those needed a little help to get workin sometimes, in some more extreme circumstances. For me, Im still finding this fine line in the pathy. Used to having drums in the rear, and the pathy having discs, a little touch on the pedal goes a long way.
  17. Yeah, I'll have to get around to doing this when its a little warmer around here, and not pooring down rain.. Need to get some extra time to get out and either pull codes, or run through those diagnostics. First break, Im definately headed out to clean the MAF and see if that garners me some results this afternoon.
  18. Yeah. The usual Im sure.. Going to clean up the MAF tomorrow. Its been happening for a while now, however its never been too horrible. Just progressively gotten worse. This last weekend, there was a day where it idled at just under what appeared to be 400rpm. Didnt run that rough in particular (it wasnt missing, just idled low). My first thoughts were like, maybe the tranny or torque converter not "lettin loose" enough and was draggin the motor down a bit. Neutral gear, idle came up a smudge. Still was pretty low. Normally this really wouldnt bother me much. However now, Ive noticed at night, its idling so low, the alternator will not even keep 12v output with the lights on. Being in Salem Oregon, its still cold, windy, etc.. I have no garage to work out of around here really. Have there been any "commonish" sensors to look at as causing this behavior? I went through this afternoon (a short period where the sun actually came out) and pulled some plugs and checked the cleanliness of connectors and such, and everything was clean and tight. As a side note, after hanging out here for sometime trying to figure out the factory alarm system, I eventually just picked up an aftermarket unit, and got it working out pretty slick. Some hours with a multimeter, with the drivers seat removed and such got it working like a champ. Keyless and alarm ftw. Silly enough I looked back through that thread this evening and seen some new information posted by 88. I wish I would have looked at that thread sooner.. lol. As well, noticed 88 lives around Salem Oregon as well. How lucky am I? Anyway. Yeah, ideas or just random postings wanted.
  19. This is great information. Thanks Been lazy to even look at how to do this. I plan on getting around to doing this, come summer. Always been annoyed at the saggy front end.
  20. Which shocks would you guys recommend? Lookin for comfort (such as goin a good click through my field) but will allow some good flex? The truck is currently equiped with the stock "adjustable" sport / touring shocks.
  21. Sucks anytime anyone closes a legal offroading area. Its hard enough as it is, to "play" and be legal, let alone making more difficult.
  22. My comment was sarcastic. Your "website" has zero content. All it does it look pretty. You are getting deals from parts companies with zero content?
  23. Hey guys, whats going on in this thread? :type:
