just snapped some pics for ya.... 2WD 4HI NEUTRAL 4LOW LIGHT
-
park your pathy on a hill with a small incline, put it in drive and take your foot off brake and see if it climbs without touching the gas, most pathies wont if in 2wd, but will if in 4wd.
-
you can not drive with the 4x4 shifter in neutral, it just wouldnt move. And the light will only come on in 4hi or 4lo.
-
if the 4x4 shifter is all the up (closest to the dash) your in 2wd, al the way down is 4lo. and yes there should be a 4x4 light, on my 93, its at the bottom right corner of my cluster. If your isnt working, it could simply be the wiring at the tcase, get under there and take a look and see if a wire looks bare or unplugged or just real dirty.

if your crankin em up on stock UCAs, your only gonna get about an inch and a half at most, with the after market UCA's, youll get about 3 and a half outta them. the only real strain your puttin on is the outter tie rod ends. so if your gonna whel your pathy, or put some bigger tires, be prepared to replace the tre's, and the CL and most likely your idler arm, and maybe some lower profile bumpstops. its really a small price to pay to make it all look good and safe. i replaced my CL, tre's, IA, upper BJ's, bumpstops, and UCA's all for under 500 bucks. and a few bucks for the alignment afterwards. and the only prob you'll most likey have with the JGC coils in the rear is they cant handle a real heavy load without sagging.
-
cranking the Tbars is the ONLY way to lift the front end, even with new UCA's, you have to crank em up. And for some decent UCA's for about 120 bucks, you can get em at roughcountry.com. they only make em for the hardbody, but they are the same as the pathy.

ideling is the WORSE thing you can do to a vehicle, specialy for that long! best bet, like said above, buy a power inverter or one of those power jumper packs from autozone that has the outlets. much cheaper and safer.

my 93 has the 60k too.
-
just had to be better than my old 91 pathy. and leather heated seats, heated mirrors, no rust or rot, automatic, and had to be the SE.
-
where in Mi are ya?? im in Windsor... if you come up through windsor and drive up to hamilton, you'll pass right by the african lion safari... its actually pretty cool (besides the 80 bucks CND for wife and i and my 5 yr old son to get in) And also, you can do some tubing in Elora Gorge which is also pretty fun. Just a few stops on the way.
-
if you have any doubt about the t-belt being changed... change it!

DAMN... that one dude who rolled on the ground to get outta the way came close!

an easy way to tell if you have an SE or an XE is, on the SE, there is 2 trip odometers, and only 1 on the xe. (correct me if im wrong)

i used what my manual called for. (API GL-5 or SAE 80W-90*2 LSD*3) you can find it in your manual if you have one. If the gear oil you have isnt for LSD, just get the additive to add to it.
-
you said you had the rear end fluid changed??? if so, you might have the same problem i had long ago.. i had a clunkin noise everytime i backed up, and took off slowly and turned the wheel. It turned out that the guy who changed the rear end fluid put the wrong crap in. I went and bought some gear oil, and the LSD additive, and had jiffy lube put it in., I havent had the noise since. SO, maybe whoever did the gear oil change, used the wrong stuff. Id, do it again if i were you, and buy the oil yourself. Its actually a common 'problem' with the older pathy's.

where you located? i have a MAF from a 94 pathy if your interested.. make me an offer.
