  1. The edge was kinda sharp where i drilled through, but i covered it with painters tape to de-sharp, and i didn't see any rips in the insulation on the wire
  2. The way the kit came- Power wire goes from + to fuse to switch, then green wire from switch to splitter that goes to each lamp, then each lamp is ground to the bumper I attached the power wire by wedging it onto the screw that holds the other wires onto the + terminal inbetween two other attachments on that screw. The red wire runs along the passenger fender, then on the back firewall and in through what i assumed was the hole for the clutch pedal (i have a/t)
  3. Fuse is trash after a few minutes of driving w/em Anyone know what could suddenly cause this? i was driving with them on, then oncoming traffic so i shut em off, and they didn't come back on
  4. i saw the 1st posted one a while ago when i discovered the legend that is the patrol.... It always struck me as a very professional rig...the kind of thing that a billion dollar research project would be driving if nissan had sent patrol's to USA, noone would be arguing about jeeps being best, cause nissan would!
  5. nvm! i spent more hours than i should have, but I DID IT! I ended up running the ground to a much easier location (the ground wires are only 4 inches long unfortunately), by drilling a hole just below the light on the front of the bumper (where it was metal and i wouldn't have to drill through plastic) then attach the wires via a prong, and then set them between the screw and bumper.... Idk if its as powerful as it could be, but now i have a way to wire it to the neg terminal w/o having to directly attach the two wires
  6. are those just pictures of what you were looking @ online? if so, it could be that they use a generic picture for every model, but idk, sorry?
  7. Could you get a pic of this hole? and how did you direct them after pushing the wire through? I see a plastic cover thing that surrounds the firewall portion where the steering shaft exits, what about if i drilled a small hole through that?
  8. So a while ago i was on youtube and saw a vid of a green pathfinder in canada, that had a custom winch mounting system that just swept up like a grille guard infront of the front bumper... the vid was set in a forest with the videographer sitting at the top of a hill with the pathy @ the bottom, and the guy taping is talking to another guy and says 'eh' like 4 times Anyone know where this vid is!? I want to get the schematics for that winch setup to see if i can have one fabbed up, or atleast get a price :S
  9. and where is a good place to run the wire for the switch through the firewall and into the cabin?
  10. What would be an ideal ground? Frame?
  11. i had actually been looking FOR npora since i got my pathy (5 yrs ago or so) and then i gave up for a while, and assumed there were no aftermarket parts for pathy's.... so i got online the other day and saw a video on youtube with the npora link in the descrip, and i was crying with joy! so far i have put a note on 3 ppl's windsheilds of wd21's and NOONE has come here
  12. YOUR MACGYVER! Thanks, def gonna try that
  13. Hey again, well my mom is letting me take my pathy on the dunes for the weekend, so im gonna try to put on some cheapo $20 walmart lights (they are the baja runners or w/e but they really look aight) just incase something bad happens or i need to use them for night runs, you know... Anyways, i don't have more than 1.5 hours from when i can use power tools and work, to when i gotta get on the road, so i mocked up my lights right now on my table w/a 6 volt HD flashlight battery just to test connections... After one light not working, i traced that to the ground wire not being connected INSIDE the lamp housing (stupid walmart) so i got that under control... But i am planning on mounting these on the plastic plate thing that sits on the top of the bumper, but where should i GROUND them? the ground wire from the lamp is only about 5" long, and after i feed it through the hole it will only be about 3-4 @ best Any ideas? i don't own a saudering iron or any other wire, but it did come with a prong for each wire...im thinking maybe ground it to some sort of screw in the bumper right there or something,...idk
  14. or you could find a front hitch setup, and get the hitch winch thing, then you can swap it round!
  15. so is the motor trying to push it up but can't? and if all else fails, use some of the shims i suggested, and once you have the window pulled up, wedge them in between the the door and the window inside the car, that held ours up for more than a month before we got it fixed If you can get a cheapo motor from a junkyard or something, id try replacing it
  16. Personally i'd pull off the door panel and see if something just came loose and moved, and if push comes to shove do what i did when my window FELL into the door... Lift it up with some grilling tongs or something like that, then use a couple of shims and that material you put under rugs so they don't move on slippery floors to keep it from going down again....your situation may be a little diff though
  17. Yeah, thats what im aiming at, but the thing is i CAN'T really buy it, and i also can't own my own vehicle until my 2nd year in college... But you got the idea pretty much spot on, noone drives the pathy so while its on jacks or stuff for lifting/working on it i can still drive the bu to work Which vehicle i take to college will depend on which vehicle still runs by then and where i go to college, winter state ill take pathy, warmer state ill take bu so many choices!! Im looking @ a position working for a salvage yard or a 4x4 shop so i can get free stuff
  18. Glad you caught the bastages! Thats really my only concern with adding lights and/or winch heres a pretty decent vid about welding with batteries.....this actually looks kinda USEFUL... carry two or three batteries with you in the back for an emergency, or even if your running battery goes dead for some reason!
  19. oh my gawd IM BUYING A GALLON!
  20. GREAT NEWS! My ma says that if i can get a job this summer she will probably be alright with me messin with it!
  21. Quick Question for getting surface rust off.... Angle Grinder with sanding disc thing OR Sandpaper I have a few spots that need to be taken care of on both my vehicles, and im torn on either sandpaper or grinder, i would be worried about getting too far down with the grinder but anyways...
  22. lol, so you ARE a true pathy! :D

  23. Well im 2nd in line...but the 1st in line has spent three days NOT making a choice.....And i would have to drive three hours and spend 50+ bucks in gas...... and there are people in line after me looking to get them free to, and if i don't need them id rather let someone who does pick em up :\
  24. You can get scoops that you just 3M on, and you could fiberglass it flush www.andysautosport.com
