  1. Welcome! You will find lots of good info here. What part of Lotus Land are you from?
  2. Here is a review of the Chinook for 2004: Link What price were they asking for it? FYI I have the 2002 version (called Chilkoot) and the all mode 4wd is awesome.
  3. Mine is really exciting, it the BLANK option. Do not want to wait for a page I may not want to go to.
  4. Go here for a description of Pathys on the trail: Link Let us know how you do!
  5. Can't go wrong with the 01. Let us know what you end up with. Good luck.
  6. It will really depend on the place you bought it. I had a tire destroyed on the Labour Day weekend while out of town (rivet through the tread) . The only place open was Sears, so I bought a tire there and took the old one back to where I had bought it (Tirecraft). They reimbursed me for the Sears tire and extended the warranty I had on the original tire to the Sears tire (included free balancing and rotations every 10,000 km) . So check with the place you bought it. And for sure do not tell them it is off-road related or you may be out of luck .
  7. Check out this used car review at Canadian Driver, explains some of the differences at the years you are looking at. Big changes at 99.5 (body) and 2001 (motor). Link I have been very happy with my 2002, bought used on wet coast (lease return). Good luck.
  8. How insidious! Lure Canadians with cheap (for us) gas that eventually wreaks our motors, making the Canadian economy come to a grinding (spluttering) halt! Oh how cunning you Americans are! On the TV new show I first saw this on, they talked with a Bellingham Honda dealer. They were seeing lots of cars with fuel injectors plugged.
  9. If you get gas in Washington State and you have been having fuel problems, you may want to check out this article: Link Hope not too many are effected!
  10. Here is a good discussion on torque to yield bolts. Check it out. Torque to yield link (hope my link works this time! if not, here it is in "plain" text) www.canadiandriver.com/articles/jk/040303.htm
  11. Welcome fellow Canuck! It is a great site for info.
  12. Had the light go on, drove to the dealer. he said 80% chance it was the fule cap but in this case not, was actually a timing sensor. Dealer said when filling up with gas, stop at the first click of the nozzle, then put the cap on. I did have the light come on again 36 km after filling up and gaining quite a bit of elevation. It took 3 week (5? fill ups) for it to go out.
  13. I use 87 in my 02 with the 3.5 l. Dealer says no big deal about using anything better. Mileage is about 24-27 MPG on the highway (imperial gallons). Sayjack, what do you get from the PetroCan gas? May be worth switching?
  14. Yep, Pezzy's link works. I did my 2002 a month ago, 22 separate downloads. When you get to the first download page (Pezzy's link changed to the year you want) click on each section. When it has loaded, save it somewhere on your hard drive. It will take awhile to do each, so be prepared and patient!
  15. My kids love that story. You should post the picture of the jeep after it went down the hill!
  16. Like the "old" Pathfinder you say? This is from a review of the 2005 Pathfinder (at the end): "If you're lamenting the loss of the original Pathfinder, don't. It's still around, only now it's called Xterra." 2005 Pathfinder Review from CanadianDriver.com Looks good!
  17. Go here for PDF versions of 96-05 owners manuals: Link
  18. Owners manuals are avilabe here as well: Link
  19. The manual says H3 for the fogs alright. Thanks for the info on the lights, I may look at those when I need to replace the GE's . Also, when I changed out the original bulbs the alignment was way better, just a bonus. Note you can get the owners manual in PDF from a few sites, I got mine from a Texas dealers web site. Follow this Link (or type [http://www.courtesyparts.com/Nissan-manual/index.html) Just scroll down to the Pathfinder section and download the one you need. Cheers, Will
  20. For my 2002, the owners manual lists the bulb as a HB2, with 60/55 watts. I replaced mine with 9003 NH super whites from GE. So far no problem with fuses or wiring and I use my lights a lot as I do a lot of driving on logging roads due to my job in forestry. They are great bulbs, $26 each at Canadian Tire. Also in Canada, we have daytime running lights, on the Pathy it is the headlights at a lower voltage. Hope this helps. I know where you are coming from re the wiring issue, my 1996 Mercury Mystique had terrible headlights and I put in higher wattage bulbs. Ford issued a warning that doing so would result in fuses going or the wiring harness catching on fire. Good luck.
  21. Welcome aboard. On your profile you had a ? after the Chilkoot/XE. If you have a Chilkoot, it will have decals on the outside and a plaque on the inside (on the roof console). I have a 02 Chilkoot and it has been a great truck. This is also a great site to exchange ideas. Again, welcome!
  22. No need to replace a chain, it is made from metal and under normal use does not need to be replaced. The belt type DO wear out and need to be replaced so they have the a replacement interval.
  23. Any one have any ideas for a decent divider between the passenger and cargo compartments? The pet dividers that you can buy at places like Canadian Tire do not seem sturdy enough to hold much back in the case of an accident and I have quite a bit of heavy stuff in the back, especially this time of year now that we are into fire season (piss can (empty right now), fire shovel etc) along with my usual bush stuff I pack all year.
