  1. I was also thinking about the shocks and struts as well. Its been a little over 50K+ miles since I had those replaced. Might be the problem.. Probably a good time to add a lift
  2. I went from 29s to 31s as well. Same with mzxtreme, I lost the same amount of miles to the gallon, but it was expected. My speedo actually became more accuate. With the 29s at 65+ MPH, the speedo would read ~ 3-5MPH more than the actual. Ex. Speed 60MPH, Speedo 64MPH. As I go faster, the difference becomes a little more greater. Haha, I used to like it. Gave me the feeling that my rig can haul a__.
  3. Just resurecting this thread once more.... My pathy sort of drifts to the right. When I release the steering wheel, it sort of slights to the right a little which causes it to drift in that direction. I assumed it needed an alignment (which I found out I was right) but that didn't fix anything. Wheel still shakes at certain speeds, and still slants to the rights like before.. I had a bad toe-in / \ which was fixed. mzxtreme: i am having some issues there right now too but check the idler arm, center link, tie rod ends, and ball joints to make sure they are in good condition.. then maybe an allignement... also check balance and tire pressure.. k9sar: if both are wearing to the inside, you have a toe-out problem. Alignmen should fix it. I would also check the camber on the heavily worn tire. Sounds like that is out on one side. This can be caused by a broken or sagging spring (measure ride height on both sides), a bent strut or spindle, a mislocated strut tower or engine cradle, a collapsed control arm bushing or a bent control arm. I should probably give these things a look at as well. Does anyone else have a clue?
  4. Mine were installed blackwalled. I wanted whitewall though.
  5. I use Kenwood. Love it. I want to get another one, just need an excuse. Stay away from motorized faceplates.. I have one that just flips down... (Removable. Since they're all either motorized/removable. Hard to find a nice one without the useless feature.) I just can't imagine how it would be to be stuck with the same CD when the motor goes out.
  6. Heard this was better than the sterring wheel lock.
  7. What problems with the steering compents occur with a 3.75" BS or smaller?
  8. Should have I siad... slow.. instead of weak?
  9. Well, even if you allow the truck to shift at 3000RPM its still fairly decent. Its not break-your-neck speed. I feel 3000 is just right. 3500... well, that's a little more than needed to get off the line. sly
  10. You accelerate sub 2000 RPM? Man I'd hate to be behind you at a traffic light. But then again, my VG is weak as hell compared to the VQs. Anyway, let us know how you built this. Show some pics. Very interested.
  11. I'm running 15x8 with 3.75 BS and 31s. Rubbing is minimal, its rubs in the wheel well but not that much at all.
  12. Or even go with 3.75" backspacing.
  13. Doesn't Nissan usually use Clarion as their OEM audio systems? Or am I wrong?
  14. Nice. I went to 4 Wheel Parts myself. Those Pro Comps look nice, I should've went with those. I took advantage of the BFG rebate. Friday is my big day. So excited..-bounce- -bounce- -bounce- -bounce-
  15. How hard was it to remove the bolts? I tried but, they're stuck. Its like they welded themselves on. I'll probably give it a squirt of WD40.
  16. Does it just go off spontaneously? If it does its usually a sign of something. My 240SX did that to me, I forgot what I changed? I think it was the battery.
  17. What about 31s on 15x8 with 3.75? I was told they WILL NOT install them if they rub even a little and I would have to take them to Discount Tire. If that's the case, them I'm refunding the wheels and getting my set at DT.
  18. So I stop by 4 Wheel Parts today to order some wheels and the guy says he might not be able to put them on since they might rub. I'll still be running my 30x9.5 for a while till I get the BFGs on Tuesday. Will it rub with that backspacing with 30s? Will it rub when I move up to the 31x10.50?
  19. Think of it this way. There's less wind resistance, which in turn allows for better fuel economy. Probably gain back all those mpgs lost due to bigger rubber.
  20. Not too sure where to as this, didn't want to start another infamous tire thread but. What's the biggest tire that can fit underneath an R50s spare tire compartment? Getting tires and wheels, and thought maybe even getting a 5th set to replace my stock spare. Doesn't look good with a chrome spare with 3 black wheels rolling down the street. Never had to drop the spare tire to check the size (knock on wood), but I'm assuming its a 30.
  21. You're right about that. Nothing but dirt. I live around Blue Diamond / Rainbow area. Where you located?
  22. FINALLY A V8! Every other competitor has a V8 option. Its about time.
