End of January update! I've got my drawers about 90% complete. I decided to experiment with a heavy duty drawer style using skateboard bearings and 1" square bar. Would be great for a long truck bed to hold serious weight. In the future I'll save up more pennies for actual drawer slides when I do v2.0- Next up I tackled the lighting. I decided to not lower my basket and instead mount the lighting kind of low. It works great so far! Fronts, sides (both together), and rear are independent with three rocker switches. Links: switches, fog lights, waterproof 6-pin disconnect, zip-tie anchors, wiring kit, wire loom And I've had a chance to get out and do some camp spot scouting in the Olympics... And today I replaced the rear hatch glass struts (RockAuto)... So what's next- Finish cleaning up undercarriage Install new hatch struts Install new cabin blower fan (current one CLICKS annoyingly)

@mjotrainbrain convinced me to get back on here, so here’s some recent pics. I’ve got a friend in town who has a lifted forester (which actually has the same mirrors as the pathfinder). It’s pretty dope. I also got a new car a couple months ago, a 2002 Subaru Outback with a 5 speed manual, nicknamed the “swaggin wagon.” I’ve always liked this generation of outback, and I got a great deal on it. I absolutely love it, it’s super fun to drive, does amazing in the snow, gets great gas mileage, and actually can do the 80mph speed limit in Montana. OEM would be almost exactly 29. If you haven't come across this or something similar already, I use https://tiresize.com/chart/ for a quick layout of metric to inches conversions and popularly available sizes. They have lots of other great tools too.

Awesome, yeah that's what I'm thinking, just a bit larger than the OEM 29's(??). I have some spare blank cheapo Rally Armor mud flaps I might see how they look, I'm thinking of doing something similar to Karmann and trim the OEM ones down a smidge. I'll be sure to do a through digging around on the forum for info. The current tires aren't fully worn down, but they're older from the previous owner so they're starting to crack. I'd like to get some new ones sometime this spring prior to longer summer trips.

Yup, I did it....posting on a thread over 10 years old. But I HATE it when I search for something and the answer is not clearly there (this came up in a google search): 24 spline - 4 cyclinder transfer case 30 spline - v6 transfer case including the VQ35DE 2001-2004 pathfinders that do not have AWD TX14A. How these apply to the diesels, I do not know but count your splines for TX10 cases.

I purchased two brand new half shafts from Napa after I installed my lift. They vibrated so badly the vehicle was undriveable with the front hubs locked. With the wheel at full droop on jack stands it was almost impossible to turn the half shafts, you could see the binding on the inner CV joint. I reinstalled the factory half shafts...smooth as butter, even with the lift. I have found most NAPA parts to be pretty good, but was amazed at how crappy these half shafts were. From now on I grab some from the yard and re-boot em.

Even better! thats perfect. Well, my 2.5 inch spacer lift rubbed with 32x11.5 tires. From roaming around, and personal experience, a 2" lift on 31s would probably be a no-trimming-required combination. And, for anything below a 31" tire (and usually a 31") should not hit your strut mount on stock wheels. So, 30-31 inch tires with no wheel spacers and no trimming should work. However, if by no trimming you also include the caveat of keeping your front splash gaurds, I wouldn't know what to expect with those. This is the best guide available

Wow, well done! those look like quite the projects, and it looks like they all turned out great. I love a good roof rack setup. How bad is the hood glare?

Thanks for all of the responses. I ended up swapping in remanufactured Cardone axles (got a great price, and ordered just before I saw the Rockford recommendation), TRQ lower ball joints (the rubber on mine were all cracked), and Nissan OEM stabilizer bar links (same...rubber was completely shot, and found a good price on ebay). I was going to try to do the work with a friend, but he flaked and the tire shop gave me a good price for doing all of the work at the same time. I've been taking my time, mostly due to laziness, but think I have taken care of most of the problems with my pathfinder. The last major thing is to figure out the roof rack situation (need to pull the anchors from a vehicle in the junkyard, but haven't looked forward to pulling down TWO roof liners) so I can store the spare, which doesn't fit underneath anymore. Thanks to the forum for help through this process...through lurking and asking questions, I've learned a ton.

The perspective from the angled parking spaces adds to the effect, but I saw this silver R50 at Wal Mart, then had to snap a quick pic of the height difference. Had an inch or 2 of snow last night, roads were pretty slick this morning, the new Falkens handled great! Very grippy! Plenty more weather coming this weekend, but so far so good!

Mine wasn’t too bad, but I did remove the torsion rod so that I could turn the nut on the control arm easier. Ordering the parts this week, hopefully get to replacing everything by the end of the month and I will report back. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks for the update. Everybody overlooks things now & then. Thanks for letting your experience be a reminder to us all. I just bit the bullet & purchased OME struts. I could totally make the same error & would be less capable to fix it - so thanks for the forewarning!
