tmorgan4
Over on AC I was just reminded the D21's and R50's use the same rear axle (duh sssh ) while I was looking at the ad for the jeep springs used in pathfinders. Could anyone with a D21 (can't remember which model they're from) take a picture of the top and bottom springs perches? If they could be used in an r50 as well it could be huge. My email is tmorgan4@frii.com or just post it here. Thanks a TON in advance! Tyler Edited February 19, 2006 by tmorgan4

RedPath88
Just for the record... a D21 is a Hardbody pickup. The 87-95 Pathfinders are WD21's Why is that important here? Well its not really I think we all get that you are asking about a Pathfinders spring perches. But as an FYI, Hardbody (D21's) have leaf rear springs while Pathfinders use the coils that your asking about. Again, not a big deal just letting you know
tmorgan4
Ahh I get it now. I was just copying what the guy selling the springs said it would fit. Thanks for the clarification. -bounce- And Slick, thanks for the picture. I'll have to see if ours have the same overall shape, and if so I might see if I can get a measurement on the I.D. And O.D. of the spring. Thanks! Edited February 19, 2006 by tmorgan4
Trainman
Are you suggesting that the springs from a WD21 will fit in a R50? If so, :cool2:
tmorgan4
This is what I hope to find out soon. Anyone have some stock coils out of the rear of a WD21 I could borrow? Edited February 19, 2006 by tmorgan4
88pathoffroad
I don't think they do at all... Rear springs for an R50 are 5" diameter while the springs for a WD21 are 4". Been there, seen that in the junkyard. I could be wrong on the diameter, but I remember them being distinctly larger than WD21 springs.
tmorgan4
How hard would it be to swap out the lower spring perch for one off a jeep or WD21? I haven't looked at the top yet so I have no idea on that either.
Slick
This is what I hope to find out soon. Anyone have some stock coils out of the rear of a WD21 I could borrow? let me check to see if i still have my stock coils.....

tmorgan4
I'm located in Colorado. If you're not too far away I'd love to get my hands on them, as well as the perches. I'm not sure how much the stock coils weigh, but I could cover shipping if it isn't too much. I appreciate all the help you guys are giving me. tmorgan4
Thanks for trying Slick, hopefully somebody else will have some. Unfortunatly there aren't any Pathfinders closer than an hour away from me, but I may need to make a trip if nobody has some.

88pathoffroad
You don't need springs to compare. The stock WD21 coils are 4" diameter, 16" tall. Are your R50 rear springs anything near that?
AK9849cy
I have have my stock coils... but perches, I may know where to grind off a set. Just wondering what the upper side of your coils mount to or set in? Got a pic? Edited February 21, 2006 by AK9849cy
