MaritimeMan
I have been looking at these things for a while now, and can't find em any where in the states. It's a Uniden UH013 scanning CB, and it goes for a whoppin 399.99+ AUS. Here's the help part. I'm good for the shipping and cost, I need some one trust worthy who can pick it up and send it to me, or at least find out how much it would be to ship first, then procede to step 2. Any how, if you can help, or know somethin that is helpfull, lemme know. Thanks. M.M. BTW I'm thinkin paypal, so no worries there mates.

SteveWA
Any reason for Uniden? I run a GME TX3200 and love it! http://www.gme.net.au You can also get a TX3400 which has a detachable face.
MaritimeMan
Yes, but does it have the scan feature? Thats really the selling point for me. I do alot of raod traveling and the activity of the area can be important to me. Hence the need for the scanning funtion.

SteveWA
Yuppers it has the scan function. But I thought that using UHF in the US was illegal or something? Or you needed a license. I could be wrong though!
88pathoffroad
I think the main problem is the output wattage. Anything more than 4 watts is against FCC regs and therefore illegal to use. I forget the exact # of output watts for the radio in question, but I think it's more than 4.
MaritimeMan
Yeah, it a whoppin 5 watts !!!!! FCC ain't worried about 1 watt, it's the linear amplifiers they are worried about.

wheelmanLS1
Now this 5-watt, 4-watt business... what is the problem with it? I got a police scanner off Ebay about a year ago, is that what we're talking about? Because I know a police scanner is illegal without a liscense. MaritimeMan
Naw, we are talkin output power of a CB transciever. The whole reson behind the limit, is that truckers can use what's call a linear amplifier and get the out put up in the 1000 watts plus range. But on a side not, yes the unit I am looking for has a built in scanner, but I don't think it does the full police band, so I'm not worried about that.
