Replacing shocks

Hi!

I am replacing the stock rear shocks on my 1994 3.0 v6 with new Rancho 5000.

When i removed the old shocks, the bushings came off but the old sleeves are stuck on the bolts.

Do i have to remove the old sleeves? and in that case how?

The lower ones are a bit rusty on the surface.

The old sleeves seems to be a bit bigger than the the ones delivered with the new shocks.

Should i use the dust covers or not?

Some says use them and some says don't...

Tack!

My sleeves were the same as yours, but my Pro-Comps came with a couple different rubber bushings, so I just used the one that fit he tightest. I ran dust boots, everybody has a different opinion on it but I don't see what they hurt.

Hey Adamzan how do those RS5000 change the ride? Stiffer ride, more bumpy I guess? What about on the street going over road seams or potholes and junk like that? Did they raise it up a little? I am also interested in these shocks.

It rides a lot nicer compared to the 18 year old stock shocks that had over 300k on them! I wouldn't say its any stiffer, it is firm but I find it dampens all the little bumps very well. Shocks don't change the ride height, different coil springs do.

I would buy them again. But I won't have to since they have a lifetime warranty.

Keep in mind I have 3" suspension lift.
