Rust prevention

Maybe this one is for the northern states guys and Canadians. What do you guys do in the winter to prevent road salt from eating your Paths?

I get it shot with an oil wax mix that does a very good job. The truck smells like a candle factory for a few days but I find it coats and sticks to the surface better than the franchise companies that shoot an oil mixture. I prefer the smaller family run places...they tend to do better jobs at making sure the vehicle is totally coated.

I like Krown rustproofing. I have seen enough vehicles that have been treated since new to say that it works very well. Including a guys wd21 pathfinder, that has been here in Ottawa since new, treated every year and I could eat off of his frame.

 

I just had mine done, it does drip for a couple of days but they really soaked the hell out of it.

I have this crazy idea of sticking zinc wire along the frame. The chemistry makes sense so in theory it should work.
