Hello everybody.I was wondering if anyone knew where could get a hold of the gauge pod on dashboard.I believe it has a compass and degree for up and down slope and side to side.I used to have one in my 4 runner, but have not had any luck locating one for my 1995 pathy.

Thanks guys

What your looking for is know as a "clinometer" best bet will be E-bay, they do become available for sale once in a while but tend to be expensive. Make sure if you do find one that it will fit on the curved dash that your 95 has, I think most of them were made for the older style dash, but I am not 100% sure on that. Someone else will correct me if I am wrong.

in fact there are 2 on e-bay right now:

Didn't someone make a spacer to mount one to the round dash? Nunya possibly? can't recall

nunya has a square dash, so I doubt it was him.

the clinometer was a rare factory option, available everywhere but the US pretty much.

that's B (Precise1) your thinking of man  IIRC he made an adapter to fit one FOR a round dash TO a round dash. The factory clinometer is for RHD trucks. This isn't a problem for all us superior square dash people as it sits flat but on the inferior round dash trucks it would sit in an odd angled fashion that would look... just bad on the top of your dash due to the gauges being on the right side compared to the left on us North American spec truck owners.

As for finding one... yea, ebay is gonna be one source (hold onto your wallet though, they usually get spendy) OR option 2 would be to bug some of our good friendly members here from some of those countries that HAVE them. (Think those fine upside-down banana bender Aussies and Sheep Herding NZ members as good starts  )

Thanks for all the info guys.Yes, I know dam rounded dash. I have found them before for square dash,I just did not want to spend money to see if I could modify to fit round dash. I am debating on ones on ebay though.Last time I looked they were $200.

Leave it to U.S. to not option some of the good stuff. :headwall:

Guilty as charged. Zero progress with mounting so far, but I hope to do some work this winter, including that.

The damn rounded dash is the sign of a superior truck. Larger tapers on the center link, rounded timing belt gears, newer and probably lower mileage (not to mention the right number of doors) so you are just fine... ;)

some people put it in the pocket below the radio i think simon did that

This. For anyone with fab skills, and I know you do have, all you need is the guts and you can easily make a housing or mount it in the dash... :aok:

Just so you know as well, The Clinometers for the 94-95 models are identical to the older models that fit on the square consoles. The only difference is they come with an Adapter piece that mounts to the rounded dash and as stated, its meant for RHD curves. That's just so you don't start looking for one.

Also, If I remember correctly, There are still mounting areas beneath the Dash that the earlier models used to mount the clino's. I'm not 100% on that though. Perhaps if someone takes out the dash console and takes a peek inside they can confirm if they are still there. I've got a Clino here as well that I've had plans for but as all my projects have gone, its on stand by.

I have no clue on the round dash, but know there was 4 holes in the metal bracing of the dash under the pad on mine for installing the clips to screw it down.

And as I FULLY read the original post, just a fyi... The factory Nissan clino has an altimeter, not a compass as it's 3rd gauge. Why? Because ts cooler :aok:

I was just looking the clinomater up on Nissan FAST for the Japanese markets, they have different part numbers for the housing based on years, did they switch to the rounded dash the same year over there as they did on the US models?

Could possibly be due to color variations and possibly the truck picture? just a thought

Thanks for info. I have one now, my buddy still had my old one from my 4runner.Pretty good since I rolled it 4 years ago. It looks identical to nissan's. I imagine it was made by same company. I like the install above the radio. It looks very clean.

Thank's nunya yes I remembered after I wrote the post it was an altimeter not a compass.
