Noise When Clutching

Hey guys. I got off into some mud in my pathfinder and ever since when I put my clutch in it makes a noise.. It almost like something is rubbing. Any help would be appreciated.

thoroughly wash the truck, then have a friend push the clutch while you're underneath so you can pinpoint the noise. come back and tell us where it's coming from

There is a drain plug in there that you can pull out to drain all the @!*% out of the clutch.

is there a breather for it or something? im one of those chumps with an auto

where is the drain plug located? I lifted the ass end up with my forklift and hosed out underneath really well. However, I cant really tell exactly where the sound is coming from. It seems like it is coming from the driver side of the engine compartment.

i have this same sound, after out playing. sound like dry rubber? i just turned my stereo up louder.. like i do to all the other noises i hear... -_-

It's the throw out bearing. Don't wait too long to replace it.

The bearing is cheap, but you need to remove the transmission to get to it...

hey i have a 96 pathy and i have a nasty noise when i clutch. funny thing about it is that it doesnt happen all the time only when its raining out or when i coast in neutral and then punch the clutch in. as for the noise it makes. quite a loud grinding whining like noise. cant really put a word on it but it sure doesnt sound healthy.

Roughly the same price it costs to replace the clutch. I paid $700 for a clutch job. I would not want to do it myself.
