Going to twin turbo Pathfinder
VegasPathfinder replied to slick250's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
Looking great! -
Roughly the same price it costs to replace the clutch. I paid $700 for a clutch job. I would not want to do it myself.
-
It's the throw out bearing. Don't wait too long to replace it.

How to get 1.5L more into your tranny?
VegasPathfinder replied to VegasPathfinder's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
Ya I had it up on the lift doing the front axle and transfer case, I already drained the tranny and I lowered it down and said "what the heck", pulled one side off the lift and added the fluid. -

Thanks! The wheels are "Rock Crawler Series 52 Gloss Black Powder" from 4 wheel parts. -
So I was changing the axles, transfer case and tranny fluids. Per the TSB HERE I needed more tranny fluid right? So what do you do? You leave one side of the lift off and there ya go!

Ya I did the timing belt about 10,000 miles ago and had the sound previous and post timing belt replacement. Ill try to record a video of it when I start it in the morning on Saturday. Lets hope we can hear it over the ticking exhaust manifolds ;-)
-
You guys have me laughing! I try to keep my vehicles clean, thanks for the props! So is there any moving parts inside the intake manifold? I know what a lifter sounds like and its not that, it sounds very metallic.
-
-
Nope, it is very metallic like a jingle. It increases in frequency and speed as I rev the engine but will disappear once the engine is warmed up. If I had to guess I would say some sort of valve inside the intake? It there something that prevents air flow when cold possibly that can get loose?
-
I have had this rattling sound coming from the upper area of the engine for a couple years. It seems to happen when the vehicle is cold and goes away once warmed up. It is a metallic sound like a jingle. It sounds as if its inside the intake manifold. Is there a valve of some sort in the intake that changes position when warmed up that could be causing that metallic jingle when the vehicle is cold?

Build up your VG30E to get 160-170hp and have 20mpg!
VegasPathfinder replied to Tungsten's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
I got 23mpg coming back from Cali BUT I had a solid 15-20 mph tail wind I was pushed the whole way! Normally I would be happy to see anything near 19mpg on the highway, 15ish in the city. -
Check the MAF connection and make sure it has a good ground. 91 octane will not cause a misfire.

Maybe if you replace your 13B to a VG30 on your avatar, your Pathfinder will love you again.

Ya I used silicon with no problems.
