Last night my oil light kept flickering on the way home! On straight roads is would occasionally flicker and corners it would stay on. So my first guess is low on oil......wrong. Just emptied the oil into a measurable container and got out 3.5qrts. Any ideas? :ohno01:

than that wire is finding ground and making your light come on.

When proplery hooked up that light should only come on if you have less than ~5 psi of oil (10 is your minimum) your owners manual will tell you to stop IMEDIATELY because engine damge with no oil pressure is iminent.

I don't think you'll get that much out just by draining though... and the light won't come on until it is way lower than that. If the wire is not connected then it will light up the bulb whenever it happens to brush against any ground point, such as the engine... the solution is to connect the wire :) The bonus is you get an oil light!
