MY1PATH
4PSI? Not what I've read, a few different places have said different things and when I was talking to a small Nissan mechanic shop that's been in business for 25 years, he told me what I wrote. If it's only 4PSI, 40HP from that low of boost would theoretically mean there's much more room for power to be made. Do supercharges run the risk of pre detonation like turbos do? But I wouldn't need to even mess with the throttle body since mine's already completely fuel injected, and it almost looks like from the picture in the ad the runners on the lower intake manifold are the same or similar to what I have, and if that's the case the supercharger could be bolted right on. I want to find someone with a supercharged truck and stop them so I can take a real close look under the hood. yep I'm pretty sure its 4 psi on the same block and interals. Now L&P ran 12+PSI (also on stock internals) and I think he threw a rod. A pulley would do some good for an M62 but really the M90 (built for 3.0 and up) is what belongs on there. Superchargers still run risk of pre-detonation(any form of forced induction really) but the variables are differant. Intercoolers are not as important for keeping the knock down and since the boost can come in at ANY RPM the spark timing has to be allot more flexible. You could bolt that M62 up (or an m90 many had the same bolt pattern), hook up an MSD BTM and you would be good to go. If your panning on raising the boost allot I'd think you'd want 8.5:1 pistons to help keep the knock down. But the more you boost and the more you dish the piston the more you work towards peak power instead of flat torque.(you'll still get more torque it just won't be flat)
unccpathfinder
Yes, true and good point. As I said though, I'm not sure I want to deal with that. Why?? Lazy! I already have more work than I can do. Me too...i chose to not fight with CARB and wait until someone pulled me over and told me i couldn't keep my out of state plates... nismothunder
Looks like one of those egg sacks from Aliens...If that thing is what crawled out of it I'd rather deal with the facehugger things...Now thats out of the way I have open exhaust before the cat and I have to poop a lot,are those things related? jj big shoe
In my mind it's a given that a cat will reduce emissions due to the solid plutonium flux capacitors inside it, but TNZ has a good point about conspiracies. In VA the gas companies would fill their stations with oxygenated fuel during the winter (at least they did when I was there) which was supposed to bond an oxygen atom to the exhaust turning some carbon MONoxide into carbon DIoxide. Good idea and happy plants, right? Trouble is it has such a lower efficiency as a fuel that you end up burning 25% more of the crap when driving the same distance. I would fill up before going to WV and it would take an entire tank door-to-door, so I'd fill up again before leaving and have 1/4 tank left when I got home. How's that supposed to help the ozone? jimmaw
Here in Arkansas we have no smog test or even inspections. We also have nice clean air to breathe. same in fl
