Hey all, I just saw the above mentioned tranny on CL close to my house for $150, will it fit? Would I have to use a different ECU? It just got me thinking that if it was an easy swap that seems like a good price for a manual, or am I :crazy:

You won't need a different ecu as your basicly only eliminating the one for the auto and a Manuel is well... Manuel. But be warned there is more than just "unbolt automatic, bolt in 5 speed, drive". A couple people here have swapped and one of them will proably chime in shortly to point you to their swap threads to help give you a better idea of what's involved.

 

 

And I 'think' they are the same 5 speeds through the wd21-d21 range are the same as long as from one with the same amount of powered axles. But don't hold me to that...
