pathfinder braking problem

I have a 1992 Nissan pathfinder chassis # wnyd21020327,diesel engine qd32,manual transmission.When i brake suddenly i hear loud clanging metal noise coming from under the engine:-front differential/gearbox area,can't pinpoint exactly where this noise is coming from,one theory i have is in the front differential the spider gears may have some play, any ideas suggestions,help.I have changed brake booster,disc pads,shoes,front wheel bearings and seals,engine mounts and tension bar rubbers,all rod ends and bottom ball joints changed

Tension/compression rod bolts not fully tightened, or bushing not fully seated? Transmission Mounts? When I put the bushings on the tension rods I had to tighten them a couple times to get it to quiet down. Does it make noise if you are in reverse and hit the brakes too? What about going over uneven terrain with the wheel turned sharply? This would make mine complain also...
