Filling In Holes In Fenders

i took off my fender flares, and now i want to fill in the holes with body filler and paint my fenders. i have new cheap rubber flares that i wanna throw on there, but they arent big enough to cover the holes so i have to fill them. can anyone let me know how to fill them? what do i need to make it look good? or, do the 96-99 front fenders fit 99.5-04? i noticed most of the older ones dont have flares or holes! that would be a quick swap if it was possible. i am inexperienced and would love advice! thanks!

Personally I would weld them shut, just goo-ing filler in there will eventually pop out after some abuse and road rash.

For the quarter panels you'll want to consider welding, for the reason nunya just pointed out.

 

As for the fenders up front, you could source cheap ones and get 'em painted.

maybe i worded it wrong, but i dont need to fill in the back, just the front fenders. so will 96-99 fenders without holes fit on my 1999.5?

AFAIK the fenders are the from '96-'04.

Whatever you wind up doing, make sure to take pics and post what you do, because im likely going to have to take off my fenders as well.

Welded mine when I installed the new fenders as I didn't want the flares back on. Flares might look nice, but they mainly keep mud/dirt/water between them and the fender causing a lot of rust.

Thats what im probably going to have to do once I get 35's. The only thing I would have a problem with again is painting them back to the stock color, might cost a pretty penny

thats the only thing i am afraid of is cost. hopefully i can score a set of fenders w/o holes from a junkyard that are already black
