muddfildvaynes
My friend here in NH owns and operates a machine/welding/fab shop and he put together a reinforced version of the SFD that is 4"... It has the SFD brackets that he reinforced, strut spacers, motor mount spacers, and a panhard bar drop that I am selling fro him; PM me for a price and estimate on shipping. Note this is not a complete package but the brackets and main core pieces.
laxman0324
So what else would be needed? Rear springs obviously but what else up front? Steering extension?
muddfildvaynes
The shipping would be around $50. You would just need to get rear coil spacers or custom coils along with longer shocks like from a 2000 F250, brake lines which you could get locally made for $50-70 a piece, steering linkage extension but there are sticky's in the forum to show you how to make it. The kit comes with: (four) 4" SFD brackets (two) 4" motor mount spacers (two) 4" strut spacers (one) panhard bar drop bracket All are Tig welded
laxman0324
I think if you guys have already gone that far on a kit, you might as well offer a kit that includes at least the steering and brake parts needed, I think most people would want something prefabbed and proven rather than making their own, especially with steering. Also, maybe offer an option that includes say coils and shocks for the rear or coil spacers and shocks...I know I would rather buy the kit all in one from one person than have to start piecing things together on my own. Don't get me wrong, I think it is fantastic that you are offering this and I hope you have much success, but I am sure there are other people more like me that want a more complete kit that covers everything since I don't have the experience or time to do the right things. Thank you for your hard work and willingness to distribute such a needed item to the members of this board, if a more complete kit appears you can bet I will be on your list very quickly! No problem, this kit was actually meant for me but it wasn't going to be built in time so I got one off of Shift220 (which I believe is not making anymore), so I am selling this kit. All the other parts such as brake lines could be ordered locally and you wouldn't have to pay shipping and you need to order the springs anyways for this kit like I did; the only other thing is the steering extension/u-joint and you just need to get the extra u-joint and weld a piece of metal between the u-joint and stock steering bracket. There is information in this forum on how to make them and it isn't that hard.... maybe $20 of welding at a local shop.... I had to piece my kit together myself, you aren't going to find a "complete" kit anywhere and the parts aren't that hard to find. fleurys
you aren't going to find a "complete" kit anywhere and the parts aren't that hard to find. I think what laxman was saying is that if someone would take the time to build one kit that has everything, people would be more inclined to buy it since they don't have to search for a welder, Junkyard parts, springs manufacturer etc... I see a business opportunity here...

TooQForYou
I agree. If there was a full, quality kit available that was reasonably priced, I would be more apt to buy one.

180sx
What about a compromise? Buying this kit, and instructions on how to fill the rest needed. Such as what shocks (part number), a write out of what you need for the brake lines (so you can give it to a brake specialist or order it online even) and ect...it really would be the same as if he went and did it, only he doesn't have to front the money before hand, you know? Or, mudfild can price everything already from where he needs, tells you the total price (with a little profit, if you want) and then you pay in advance, and he gets kit. Only thing about this is we don't want another incident like what happened here not so long ago with nis********7 (kind of censored for it's not really anyones place to tell except those involved), you know? my two cents Jose

If you are willing to give me the money up front I could order everythiong and get it sent out to you as soon as I get it or in a whole package so you would just have to pay one flat shipping rate. Either way I wuill look into assembling the whole kit and the cost; the only thing will be getting the steering u-joint and spacer/linkage that extends it and needs to be welded. Let me know who would be interested and we could work out a deal. Maybe more to come in the future also if I can get this put together. muddfildvaynes
After doing some quick pricing the total would come out to be $1,150+- total for a complete SFD package and this is not including the steering u-joint and linkage/extension. It would include the SFD, rear springs, extended brake lines (there are 3; two up front and one in the rear the two front are $60 a piece and the rear is $70), Pro Comp ES 9000 shocks, and shipping. Again I could get this whole package together but I do not have the money to cover everything, I would be willing to set you up with my email and phone numbers (personal and work) and would give a copy of my Drivers License for your trust. Let me know who would be interested and for the breakdown it would be: SFD - $500 brake lines - $190 shocks - $37 springs - $278 shipping - $145+-
fleurys
good initiative !... If I can put my 2 cents in, I would probably also offer a <budget> lift which would offer rear spring spacers instead of new springs. This way you would be able to have everything <in house> and save on delivery and waiting time.. Just have to fabricate a good model of rear spacers.... Hope it works for you. S. laxman0324
I hope this can materialize, I would still not be in the market until this summer, but provided a couple satisfied customers post up some reviews I would jump on it...
muddfildvaynes
I hope this can materialize, I would still not be in the market until this summer, but provided a couple satisfied customers post up some reviews I would jump on it... I am making a appointment with my fabricator to discuss making them, like I said I do not have enough money to cover the cost of these items. I am going to look into getting a exact price on everything that way I can have some exact number to throw at you, what I quoted earlier was a pretty good guestimate.... I will update as soon as I do some more research. I am just wondering how many people would be interested or if I would just be spinning my wheels, because this is alot of money if you think about it.... exit34rocker1017
i am certainly interested. my main concern is the steering linkage...not having that in the package would slow me down from buying it.
