Addz
The front right hand wheel makes a pretty quick .........click click click noise but only when in 4wd even with brand new hubs so im wondering what the problem is. I thought it must have been the automatic locking hubs giving out but new ones in and still the same noise If anyone could shed some light on the cause of the prob that would be gooooooood. DavefromOZ
CV joint for sure. Not a difficult one to fix if you have a little bit of mechanical knowledge. Edited October 31, 2009 by DavefromOZ

Addz
I thought that a CV would make noise when not in 4WD and when turning corners but mine only makes noise when it is in 4WD even going over the same bit of track in 2wd and 4wd results in differant outcomes (when in 4wd noise when in 2wd no noise) thats why i thought it must be the hubs coz only happens in 4WD But if it is the CV how mechanically minded do i have to be ? i mean the hubs were a no brainer and im not tooooo bad with a spanner and i usually get the job done but somethings are better left to a pro (even if it costs) dont want it failing on a remote beach somewhere ? this site makes owning one of these little beasts a lot more hassle free thx 4 the help fellas Hey Dave where abouts in Perth are ya Nor here, like the Terry looks good Edited November 1, 2009 by Addz
DavefromOZ
G'day Addz, I'm south down in Kwinana. If you want to arrange a meet I can have a look and will be able to confirm. When in 2wd, the front hubs are unlocked so the CV's arent turning, as soon as you start driving the wheels through the diff, the CV turns and the auto hubs lock themselves. I changed both my CV's a little while back, it really isnt difficult to do.

NavyP503
Just wondering if the new CV's fixed the problem for ya Addz? My left front is making a clicking noise that goes away when I put it in 4wd, I was thinking it was the hub.

I think you may be correct, if the clicking noise goes away when you go into 4wd it shouldnt be a CV.
