jeffrhine
I won't be doing any river crossings or anything heavy like that, But I do come across some pretty big "puddles". Just wondering how important snorkals are.
unccpathfinder
I guess that depends on how big the puddle is...I have sucked water up in my 87 and 95...not enough to hydro lock anything but enough to wet the airfilters...look in the TOTM thread and Fuelers picture...I think in a WD21 if you're going to be going through puddles like that frequently it'd be well worth it
88pathoffroad
A snorkel is important if you plan on going into deep water, period. Personally, I'd rather not take the chance of ruining my engine so I either measure puddles with a stick first or just plain avoid them.
Precise1
Yep, nothing like hydrolocking a motor that would otherwise run for 250,000 miles. Go slow and measure first or get a snorkel. A cheap collapsible fishing rod is handy... B
87pathy
in this part of the world, i say NO to snorkles. I've been wheeling this part of the world for along time, and you'll rip the snorkle off on a tree branch WAY before you cross water deap enough to need it. Precise1
I've seen some designs that are so low profile, you'd lose your windshield and a mirror before the snorkel... B

jeffrhine
I've come across some pretty big crossings, and I might just make one since its a cheap mod. I'd just have to drill that hole. :'(
87pathy
i've had water splash over my hood and the bush pig kept running.
Zibi
If the waters deep enough to flood your airbox then it's important, otherwise it's just plastic on the side of your fender.

bitemedoughboy.com
lmao!!!!! the only deep water around here is in the lakes, and the few trails that cross rivers are just a few feet deep. the snorkles around here are on poser mall crawlers (with a few exceptions). alexrex20
depends how quickly you get through the water. it takes a little bit longer to flood the interior, than it does the engine bay.
Mookie
You will drowned your ECM/CPU or whatever you want to call it long before you need a snorkel in a pathfinder inless you have relocated it wont you? The majority of most engine drowning occurs when you first "drop in" the river, deep puddle, etc. You nose down and that's all it takes. Doesn't have to deep.
