Got some TMI on this thread. :)

Not a tat person, don't like them on me or chicks. Maybe being married 15 years has gotten me stale, if I ever found myself searching it would probably be pretty hard to find a chick that didn't have at least one.

But I do like F'nitupagain's Avatar. Keep catching myself staring at it. :itsallgood:

After 30 years, those detailed back pieces and sleeves are going to look like acid induced Rorschach Tests...

The tattoos that are on old farts now that got em 40 or so years ago that look like sh!t now, were done with "not-so-good" ink. The ink that is being produced now is made specifically for longevity (keeping the brightness & the good lines looking, well good). And in all honesty I'm probably not going to care what I look like in 40 or 50 years... if I make it that long, then I'll be happy.

No jackass, make sure to keep good sunscreen on it. If it's in an area you want to get a bronze tan, at least lotion the tat.

Yeah but if you're like me & have your entire back done & both halves of your arms then its just easier to wear a shirt & keep it covered up.

You may be right about the ink, but the issue isn't that. You can use the best ink in the world, but if the pallet stretches/sags/otherwise deforms the tat is going to look like crap. Like it or not, we're not all going to look like we do when we're 70.

70? Jesus-H-Christ I don't plan on makin' it that long! And if I do then I'm tattooing my hands & all of my head except the face.

What if I would have not gotten any tattoos & died tomorrow in a car crash? Or if I have a heart attck when I'm 40? Then the way a tattoo would like when I was 70 would not have mattered, would it? Everyone assumes they are gonna live to be 70 or 80 years old but I burried 3 best friends before I graduated high school, so I don't worry about 50 or 60 years from now... sorry, but like I said if I make that long I'll just be stoked that I had kicked the bucket yet.

FYI the chick in avatar is a porn star but I can't remember her name off the top of my hand... get it, the top of my hand...

I understand the loss of friends, I lost 1 before high school (Drug OD) and one as soon as I graduated (stabbed in the heart at his sister's wedding reception). Most people live their entire lives being so uptite that they have no idea what it is to live, and it is sad.

I guess my point of it is that I would rather look back, if I make it 70 or 80 & say "Sh!t that was a mistake (getting tattooed)" as apposed to saying "sh!t I wish when I was younger I would've gotten tattoos"

Tattoos are fine for people who want them, I just wouldn't equate them with living freely, etc... Too many people use them as a prop or placebo; "I have tattoos, see what a renegade I am??" type crap. Before you load the sheit gun and aim at me, I don't stereo type, even with a$$holes (they span all types). Have a tattoo? Fine... 12? Ok. None? No problem...

Now, if you have tattoos and are a carnie...

(sorry nunya, it's true).

I didn't say anything about living freely & I sure didn't say anything about being a "renagade" & the fact of the matter is when I wear a t-shirt people have no idea that I am all tatted up. Hell most of the people taht I have worked with for 3 years have no idea & thats mainly because I don't show them off... they're for me & only me, no one else. But like I said I'd rather regret later on in life getting them than not getting them

And whats wrong with carnies... thats how I fell in love with tats as a kid & seeing old pics from the 30's, 40's & 50's of family members who were "entrepreneurs"... yeah they were carnies, gypsys or pikeys, whatever you want to call 'em. So don't be talkin bout my carnie folk B! lol

No, you didn't. My reply was 75% towards GG, I think you can see that. Like I said, I could care less. I have seen some amazing tattoos and more pathetic ones. I have nothing against them (other than prefering not to have any) but dislike the 'I have a tattoo' mentality of poseurs...

As for carnies, perhaps it was different 'in the day', but the 'modern' ones are a pretty ratty bunch. I only trust them when they are in sight...

My comment was about those who DO look at anyone with a tattoo differently than they do someone without. Because they are the same people who would probably never do a lot of things in life but spend a lot of their time with their nose in the air acting better than everyone. I know quite a few people like that.

No the time wasn't any different. You couldn't trust my family back 'in the day' either... hell they were carnies & gypsees!... just a bunch of tattooed hustlers...

Stewed, screwed & tattooed!
