My coil popped out and that is the rubber donut that sits on top of coil. The coil retained on the lower mount. I shoved it back in and attempted to drive away. My buddy had to hold the coil in for a few inchs. My limit strap needs adjusting. I should note I never turned the AC off. It was 105F.

I would leave it as is and just weld on some 1"x1" L angle along the back to hide/fill the gap.
