Got my new truck

I've tried to do a search and nothing is coming up. My transfer case shifter linkage or whatever its called is broken, can I fix this myself easily? And are the parts going to be expensive? See my pic for what I'm talking about. Also the front end is sagging on the right I believe i need to crank up the torsion bar. How do I do that, I have a vague idea but I want to be sure. Another thing, my frame on this one is perfectly solid but there is a lot of crap (sand) inside the rail in the rear, would it be a good idea to drive the truck up on some ramps so when i stick the pressure washer inside the holes that the crap drains out the back?

And finally, my window trim on the rear windows is quite rusty, I know this is common problem. But how easy is it to change the pieces. Is it as simple as popping the old one off and sliding the new one on?

Also have to change the rear wiper motor as its not working.

First thing is for you to get under there and identify all parts that are in need of replacement.. use the manual to associate names with them. Then call the parts store, wrecking yards and local dealers for prices.

There are instructions for that here, take a look around ;)

Should be fine, just don't do it in or right before freezing temperatures (that way the water has time to get out before freezing)

Check fuses, relays, switches and level linkages before dedicating yourself to replacing the entire motor assembly.

Yeah I checked the fuse for the wiper and its fine, And i took off the tailgate skin and everything looked alright, I'll try and take off the motor and test it out sometime. :crossedwires:

Thanks. Got something to keep me busy now lol

POR-15 is the ultimate primer for preventing rust. Scrape/grind off as much rust as possible, use a phosphoric acid wash (converts rust) I use a product called "The Right Stuff" from Home Depot, then the POR-15. DON'T paint over rust... even microscopic oxidized pores will continue to rust under the paint.

Tcase linkage is easy and you can find one at a junkyard, one of the boots is disposable and you may need a new one from Nissan or similar.

FYI on the rear wiper, if the glass isn't closed it won't work. You might have a bad switch at the latch or need to adjust the latch for the glass. It might not be the motor.

Yeah I pulled off the tail gate skin, and all the connections look good. The motor just isn't working and it isn't coming down enough to push that little switch that lets the hatch open. But it doesn't matter right now as the right glass hinge is broken

Thanks, I couldn't remember what that rust converter was called. People around here told me to por15 the frame too. Ill do it this spring.

I'm going to be working on the torsion bars and tcase linkage today before it goes in for the speaker installation. I'll post up some detailed pics of what happened if i can.
