mickyficky
This club sucks Questions for the club???? How long does drive last after reverse goes? Is it better to rebuild or replace? How much do the chain (aamco) places charge? Will someone reliable just come here and put a damn manual trans in it, PLEASE! Thanks,
SaKaNa
OK. I just pulled out my bill from a year ago. REBUILD RE4RO1A TRANSMISSION. R&R TRANSMISSION AND REBUILD, REPLACE ALL NECESSARY PARTS, FLUSH COOLER LINES, ROADTEST AND ADJUST AS NECESSARY. -- $1,795.00 SERVICE TRANSFER CASE -- $39.95 (This wasnt at a chain, and they left some kind of metal in the t-case, which they just fixed yesterday) Theres a bunch of other stuff on there, but I think thats the majority of the transmission stuff. I kept the stock cooler untill a few weeks ago when I moved from the itty bitty stacked plate one that came stock with a 6 pass tube and fin style for $50 at pepboys. I plan to run a second one inline with that one soon, but I'm not doing that untill I find out about oil cooling options. k9sar
I drove forward for a few weeks before I got mine rebuilt. I have not heard of anyone letting it go until it was completely dead but I'm sure it'll happen at the worst possible time if you decide to push your luck. My rebuild rab about 1600 at a local tranny shop that was not a big chain. for 2500, they offered to swap for a rebuilt one rather than rebuild mine. Obviously, I chose to have the downtime (4 days or so) while I saved almost a grand.

mickyficky
Thanks everyone, sammyb33, I'm interested for sure...Any idea what it would cost to have it put in..... I'm in california by the way (90292) Transmissions are the one thing I haven't had to deal with..... I don't have the tools and space for a job that big.....
