rennwerkes
Folks, have an opportunity to buy a 93 but was wondering about the auto trans since it has 160k on the clock. Anything else that I should be afraid of? My other Pathfinder is a 2 wheeler so this would be my first 4x4. Thanks!
Kn0xville
i bought my 93 with 155k on it.. i now have 176k on it and havent had a problem yet. if its shifting fine right now, and the tranny fluid looks and smells clean, then take your chance if you want. If theres an aftermarket tranny cooler on it thats a bonus, if there isnt, put one on it right away. Also , my old 91 pathy had almost 200k on the original auto tranny without an aftermarket cooler, and shifted like new when i sold it. The thing id be more worried about is the timing belt. adamzan
93 with 340000kms with no cooler. I think if you don't drive the piss out of it you don't need an aftermarket one.

sammyb33
well, like any mechanical problems, some people are going to have good experiences, and some will have bad ones. its a crap shoot buying used vehicles.

grie78
and CHECK FOR A RUSTY FRAME!!!!!!! agreed. if I had noticed the fist-sized rust holes in the frame before I bought mine, I probably would've looked for a different vehicle.
