88pathoffroad
On what, an aftermarket alarm? Read your instruction manual, I guess. What year and model?
thecheat1206
it's a 95 se with the factory alarm, i have no documentation...it's a miracle i got 4 wheels and a title with this truck. i'm thinking if i can charge the battery, it MIGHT forget it was tripped...seems to be a "dumb" system. 88pathoffroad
AFAIK there's no immobilizer setup on the stock alarm, but I could be wrong, maybe they changed it. Unplug the alarm unit under the driver's side seat.
thecheat1206
i'll try that 88path. this truck has just been a big hassle as of late between the fuel pump, the exhaust, the clutch, and now this...but what are ya gonna do? i just drive it. MikeV
No immobilizer anywhere in the manual, battery is toast?
thecheat1206
well, the alarm must have been tripped. unplugged the box, and we're all good. now i guess it's time to put on some new tires and fix some of the body damage...
ILoveMyPatty
Mine has an immobilizer as well. I've got the same problem, so I have the fuse pulled so she'll start :o But, there's no control unit under the drivers seat for me. govols74n
The control unit for my 94's factory alarm is under the dash between the fusebox and steering column....it's a black box........maybe they are all different, to mess with us
ILoveMyPatty
Does it say Clifford on it?
ILoveMyPatty
Mine is stuck on. I unplugged the control unit under the dash (mine isn't under the drivers seat... two plugs, right? A long one and a short one with various wires) And I plugged it back in, and it still wont start.

ILoveMyPatty
I found the manual for our alarms (at least mine.. Clifford Tazor II) http://www.directeddealers.com/manuals/og/...zor2_owners.pdf Says that even if power is cut to the control system, it will remember all settings, so you can't reset it that way I guess. Mr. Pickles
LOL, a Clifford alarm system is no more stock than my Viper. They are aftermarket alarms, however there are kits and accessories that allow them to interface with factory systems (power locks, rear hatch, etc.). The immobilizer would be another accessory. ILoveMyPatty
So my Clifford is an aftermarket alarm then? Dang, I need to find that immobilizer wire and snip it.
Simon
Yes, actually, your clifford IS aftermarket, and it IS a Viper alarm. As is my Avital alarm. All made by directed electronics, and all the same thing, other than slight model variances.
