glenn
Do any of you guys have experience with the Rancho 2.5 in. suspension lift kit? Should I get it ? THANKS ! --glenn
somethingcool
I have no experience with them but the concensus is that the rancho is the worst uca lift for our trucks. The best is probably calmini, followed by superlift, then ac, then rancho.
88pathoffroad
Yep. The Rancho UCA's are so much different that you're required to buy new wheels with different offset to even use the Rancho kit at all.
MatterHorn
thats pretty lame ... I can see the TM lift doing that ... but just uca's? ... that is just stupid
glenn
thanks guys. I was planning to get new wheels anyway so the wheel offset issue doesn't matter. Other then that is the Rancho kit bad ?
88pathoffroad
They're still selling the kits, so it can't be too terrible.

87pathy
don't quote me but i think fabtech makes a good lift too, i've contemplated getting the control arms for my frontier. but i'm not sure if they make it for the pathy
88pathoffroad
I don't think they do. Kinda like Spencer Low Racing, they make AWESOME Nissan parts, but only for Frontiers and Xterras.

statikuz
I'm not so sure you could 'reproduce them easily'. =)
88pathoffroad
Heh. There's also L&P Performance. They make burly centerlinks that basically do the same thing, minus the high cost and the idler arm/pitman arm replacements. http://www.lpperformance.com I'm getting one of these next month, along with a few other goodies... SteeevO
i had always had a thing for rancho...bummer... but about the Calmini's UCA's do they allow you to crank up the torsion bar more w/o them hitting the shock? cause i sliced open a rancho shock with the stock UCA's and i hear other people have done the same... patzx300
I am going with L+P for my steering.

q2h
I had the Rancho 2.5" suspension lift on my '87 PF. I did not like it due the fact that I always have problems with the alignment... I have to lower the front end in order to align it... and the end result was not much lift at all. If you have the $$, go with the Trailmaster 4'" suspension lift (since you're going to use aftermarket rims anyway). If you must stick with UCA, go with Calimini if you can afford it. Also, you don't need to change the rims if you're going with the Rancho suspension lift. Here's the picture of my old old truck with the Rancho lift.
