  1. My 95 is an XE but it came with the sport and power packages. That means it got the PW, PL and CC for the power package and it got the LSD rear and external tire carrier as part of the sport package. It came with the chrome wheels and 235's.
  2. They should be 8mmx1.25 Threads with a 12mm head. I do not know overall length.
  3. yes that is true just remember if you go RH drop you will need a custom oil pan. But you could do an all Nissan SAS using a PAtrol axle which happens to be an H233 in some applications.
  4. When a guy who works at the engine building plant for the VQ tells me he would not put one in his PAthifnder that only backs up what I am saying. Now in regards to the fanatics who love the VQ, most of them are tearing those things doen to bare parts and completely rebuilding with all upgraded components. I am not knocking the power or torque they put out. All I am saying is I wind my Pathfinder out to redline all day long and it's got 220K on it. A VQ will need the oil checked weekly when run like that. I have at least 1 or 2 QX4's with the VQ come in with a VTC code and it is due to low oil level. These are folks who are good on their oil change intervals. If you did a longevity test in some sort of engine testing facility I would put my money on the VG.
  5. You could not give me a VQ35. I have been working on Nissan's since 93 and the VQ series will not take hardly any abuse comared to the VG. The tolerances are so tight and the fact that everything is microfinished means if the sludge builds up just the least you are scoring journals. The PCV system is weak and blow by is common even on newer engines.
  6. We do Nitrogen in all of our tires at my dealership. The whole air pressure for the life of the tire is not entirely true. Tire pressure will remain more constant which means overall more consistent tire size which will lead to longer tire life. http://www.nitrofill.com/
  7. I am waiting for Xzibit to log on and let us know we were just pimped. WTF is that coil over setup all about? it looks like the perch is clamped to the protective body of the shock. The back is pretty cool.

    P1491

No, it means the 4 way thingy "thats how us technicians talk about such things" probably needs to be replaced. I just checked asist and there is not a reprogram for the code.

    3.0 heads

The only way you could shave the heads and not worry about bending valves would be to put 93 quest pistons in. Ford wanted the engine to spin free and apparently the pistons are notched but after 1995 the new OBD standards took that option away becasue of the possibilty of unburned hydrocarbons building up on the pistons casuing increased emissions.
  10. It looks like they will be making gears for second gen Xterra's and those gears will also work in the Titan. It is easy to make the gears as they are based on a D44 design but are not true D44.
  11. Thats definitely not an Aussie vehicle showing the SC pics. Look at the MC location and which way the wipers sweep. The MAF connector is 3.3. I have not had any contact with Phil but Lee has basically told me via IM he and Phil are no longer in buisness together. he (Lee)is going to continue working on the SC kit and doing cylinder head work. Lee has also taken a job in Detroit working for FMC so he is even farther away from Phil. He used to be only 90 miles, now he is 8 hours.
  12. I made some calls to some engineers at Nissan USA and according to them our cats are very low restriction. Apparently on the VG30E model, the cat is the same as the Z31 300ZX turbo.

    Black lug nuts

Just put some sort of anti-seize on the threads. I have seen some corrosion issues with open faced lug nuts.
  14. Now put a 6 speed manual behind that bad boy with a lever operated transfer case.
  15. What are the chances of running wires through the roof and into the tubes? I happen to have 7 projector HID lights going on the roof and the wiring would be much easier if it could be run through the tubes.
  16. Your mom told me I should check my email.
  17. I thought about re-engineering the release on the carrier but I think it would be best to leave it alone and shift the spare left. The tire will still allow access to the release handle but you can put 2 can carriers side by side on the right.
  18. No, the bolt pattern is smaller. You need old 1st Gen Xterra Nismo Wheels.
  19. Yes, it is compatible with NATO cans.
  20. Not sure how many of you have heard of Adventure Trailers, but they are going to be releasing a can carrier very soon. I have gotten ahold of one to review it for Nissan Sport Magazine. This thing is way better than the crappy can holder AC sells. It is 1/8" steel bent to conform to a standard 5 gal jerry can. The strap that hooks on the bottom comes over the can and locks. It has multiple mounting holes so you can put 2 side by side if you want. My spare is a 31 so you have a reference for how big it is. I will possibly shift my spare to the left as 2 carriers would partially block the right tail light assembly. Yes that is real Terrano badging. UPDATE!!! The carriers are going for $69.95 US plus S&H. The gas and diesel cans are $49.95 US and the water can is $24.95. They also sell spouts made for the cans and the water cans are lined so they meet food grade standards. I took the added safety measure of drilling the bolt to accept a cotter key in the highly unlikely event the carrier would come loose while having the thing full of gas. It is attached to the rear tire carrier with 2 8mmx1.25x45mm bolts. I had to drill a hole in the bottom of the carrier to match up to the tire carrier and drill holes in the carrier but it is a relatively straight forward install.
  21. Check fuel pressure, I have seen aftermarket fuel filters partially block up and reduce pressure. Also, the secondary ground tied into the MAF is when you have a rich condition due to insufficient ground at the MAF connector.
  22. I have the Euro Headlights in my Pathy. The pattern is better. Because they are an H-4 bulb I have also converted to HID's. The output and pattern is worlds better than stock. The pattern is a much more modern design where the left is lower than the right but the road in front is better illuminated.
  23. Well, Start at the front of the vehicle and work back Terrano Headlights with an HID swap (did it already) Dual battery setup from a TD27 Terrano H233 Front axle with factory locker and factory sway bar disconnects Infiniti VH45DE mated to a Jatco Auto-Trans from a UD truck with a rear housing from a Patrol Twin T-Cases with crawler gears in both of them Parking brake on the driveshaft at the rear of the second transfer case H260 rear axle that is stock width.

    VG30-VG33 Swap

Yes, a 3.3 will work in a Pathy. It has been done. The right way to do it is to get some 1995 Q45 pistons and have the block bored to 93mm. You then get 3.4 liters and a bump in compression ratio.. The stock 3.3 rods will work but a set of 300ZX Z32 rods are direct fit. I would not bother with the 3.0 upper plenum. The lowers are pretty much the same. If you use the 3.3 upper you get a larger TC by about 15mm. The other trick is to toss the BS MAF we have on our truck now and use a much larger and open 3.3 from an R50 Pathy. All external castings are the same so your engine mounts will hook right up. As will all accesories.
